MiniDV Camcorder with 42x Optical Zoom, Advanced Optical Image Stabilizer, Built-In LED Light and One-Touch Navigation, Records to MiniDV Tape.

  • The PV-GS90 miniDV camcorder’s 42x optical zoom lens has the power you need to take dramatic closeups or get remarkable shots of even distant subjects. But with long-distance zoom shots, even a tiny bit of hand shake has a huge effect on picture quality. That’s where Panasonic’s Advanced Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) …

The camcorder has great mics (with zoom setting on), and the OIS makes the picture steadier without cropping it. The technical specs on this site though are inaccurate. Read more

Panasonic PV-GS90 MiniDV 4 I bought this camera first at Best Buy first in order to record a very important event. However, after the event, I noticed, while reviewing the video, that there was a distracting dead pixel (greeen spot always on) right in the middle of the image. After verifying that it was on the CCD and not on either of the two viewfinders, I returned the camera for a full refund. I would have exchanged it but every store was out of stock. The techs... We upgraded recently from an old Panasonic VHS camcorder to this digital one. So far we are very happy with our purchase. The video quality in low light conditions is minimal. I just wish I would have asked more questions before I purchased this. The salesman gave me this whole low light enhancer pitch on the camcorder...so automatically I thought it came with an LED light ... like my old one. Wrong! Oh well... I still would have bought this camcorder anyways. We just... Read more

These are the characters I looked for before buying this camcorder. The model was suggested by B&H salesman and it turned to be an excellent product. Huge zoom, excellent stabilization, nice grip and reliable. It has capability for taking stills too. I also got a firewire cable to transfer the recorded stuff to my PC. This way I can reuse same mini DV, though it does not cost much. If you are looking for something below $200 I would highly recommend this product. Read more

Optical image stabilization works very well in longer focal lengths. Easy to access manual controls cover the important aspects of recording: focus, white balance, aperture, and shutter speed. There is a completely automatic mode and two manual modes. The first manual mode allows you to control the white balance while the camera takes care of the other settings. I used this mode throughout a vacation where we were constantly going from inside and outside and the auto... Read more
