  • Summary: This is a great unit with many excellant features not found on a unit at this price range.
  • Pros: Rich colors, crstal clear, ease of use, compact size (yet not so small as to be unuseable), audio pickup, digital pass through, included software (works fine to transfer AVI via the included USB caple and may do a good job of rudimentary editing/authoring).
  • Cons: Low light (about the same as most at this price level and higher)

Everything I expected and then some . . .

Kevin N., Newegg
2 January 2006
  • Summary: This camera does what is promised yet it still amazes me to see the footage come back with such clairity and vibrance. No more jaggys with, from what I have found, The highest resolution 3 CCD Camera at the lowest cost.
  • Pros: Outstanding color, the balance of whites and reds are amazing. Tons of tweaks. Great shape and heft. Top loading tape bay. 810K per CCD chip. Optical Image stabilization(OIS). Did I mention great Color!
  • Cons: Small 1/6" CCD's = Poor low light shot. As insult to the user panasonic put a "0-lux" feature that takes 3 fps (worthless unless subjects stand still). Don't expect to do much taping indoors without good lighting or a camera light

  • Summary: I bought this camcorder a couple of weeks ago and have already used it for many hours. The picture quality is excellent, even in not so great lighting conditions. Stills are very good, too.

  • Summary: I got this camcorder because i needed something to upload these minidv tapes that my sister recorded in china into my computer and edit them. Now i've grown to love it. it produces really nice colors and life-like depth in the videos, it worked well indoors too with just my regular living room...

Awesome

  • Summary: Best value in minidv. Other cams cant hang with the 3ccds on this baby. Great design, very comfortable in the hand, and the joystick makes operating very simple. With proper lighting you can get very quality images with the 250. Excellent manual features for a consumer cam.

Great Camcorder!

  • Summary: Excellent picture quality in good lighting. The colors are bright & vivid with good contrast. I was pleased with picture quality on indoor shots as long as there was reasonable lighting. It exceeded my expectations based on the reviewer's comments about low light issues.

  • Summary: Recently read that people were haveing problems with their camcorder and their MAC. I don't know if they have just updated something or I just tried something that no one else tried, but I was able to get mine to work.
