Since being introduced to the public the Panasonic PV-GS250 has been one of the best camcorders in its class. For anybody interested in a high quality camcorder that has a lot to offer, the PV-GS250 is one of the best options. Although this model is up against a lot of competition, it has proven that it is worthy time and time again.

The PV-GS250 is priced at nearly $1,000 making it one of the more expensive DV camcorders available. But the good thing about this price is that you will get every penny’s worth. With three chips the PV-GS250 stands out among the crowd of DV camcorders that come equipped with only one. This three chip set up allows for richer colors, as well as sharper details.

When picking up the PV-GS250 you will notice two things. First off, it is not the smallest DV camcorder around. It measures approximately 6 by 3 by 3, and weighs in at just about a pound. But even though the PV-GS250 is a bit larger than the competition this works out to its advantage with a sturdier feel. Additionally, a well laid out design makes the PV-GS250 easy to use with one hand when set in auto mode.

As far as drawbacks are concerned there are several that you will want to be aware of. First off, video quality is average at best in low light conditions. While this may not bother an amateur, a more advanced videographer will surely notice the difference. On top of this, limited zoom can make it difficult to get close ups unless you can get into perfect position.

The Panasonic PV-GS250 is a bargain considering the three chip technology that offers well above average color and sharpness. Although you will have to pay quite a bit for the PV-GS250, most consumers agree that it is well worth the money.
