Should've known better!

charlie drake, Amazon
1 November 2013
  • Summary: I should've kept a copy of the posting due to the missing items upon receipt of product delivered. I was almost sure that the battery, charger and cables were included in the posting and none of those were included. I was very disappointed and felt I was misled by the supplier. Now I have to spend additional $$ to get it to work. Highly unlikely that I will purchase from this vendor again.

Good Camcorder

D "sub", Amazon
1 April 2002
  • Summary: Like most purchasers of camcorders, I had my first child last August. Thus, I decided to buy a camcorder to take hours of video that I will never watch again. On the other hand, if I didn't buy a camcorder, I would be a horrible parent, right? Anyways, I did a fair amount of research online and in print (Consumers Reports). I finally decided to purchase the Panasonic PVDV201, based on the recommendations of several electronics salespeople.

Excellent DV camera for the $$

M. Battenfield "thebattman", Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: ... So far, the results are quite nice. Camera is easy to use, with simple auto modes for exposure, etc. Menu's are a bit cryptic, but easy to get to learn. Outstanding features: Compatible with Apple's iMove with no drivers needed. Simple and quite operation. Negative Features: Not the best low light useability (although not bad). I definately would reccomend this camera to a friend.

Very good camera for the price

"radief", Amazon
26 December 2000
  • Summary: I just got this about a week ago. It is an excellent camera for the price. There are other cameras that do more, but for most people, most of the time, this camcorder fits the bill. Very light, and easy to use. Most of the buttons are easy to reach, and you quickly get used to where to find the fade, backlight, etc. The menu button and jogger are a little awkward, but I have not found it to be a major problem.

What a difference 12 years makes

"markgpw", Amazon
25 November 2000
  • Summary: This is my first new camcorder. The one I had been using was a old full size VHS camcorder with no special features. It was a real beast. Had this new camcorder about a week so far. I found it very easy start using right away. I did a lot of research and this model rates very high for an "entry level" digital camcorder. Some of the things I like most about it is Panasonics' reputation for quality and durability.

Best value and performance

B. Armstrong "barms717", Amazon
12 November 2000
  • Summary: I wanted to replace my 10 year old VHS-C camera before my kids grew up. I learned from the old camera what features I was looking for: size, weight, battery life, and optics. This PV-DV200 is light and just the right size to be a natural extension of your arm. I carried the camera through Legoland and Disneyland Paris without noticing it, or having it get heavy, or in the way.

Can't beat it for the price and quality

J. Patuto, Amazon
21 August 2000
  • Summary: After using this camcorder for the past month, I've concluded that it can't be beat for the price. The image quality is great, although I highly recommend obtaining a color-enhancing light accessory if you plan on recording indoors a lot. The features are good, but the menu to obtain them is a little akward to use at first (well, it still is). The digital-still option is a nice bonus, but the quality of those stills is nothing to write home about.

very small and portable

C. Balleza, Amazon
21 June 2000
  • Summary: The camera is small just like the series PV-DV100. If you get tired of holding the camera so much then this is the answer, it is very light weight and it's near palm size. I will give five stars but the camera has to be a little bit bigger and the screen it's too small to see the people that it's being recorder.
