Summary: We've had this camera for about two and half years. Paid top dollar for it, thought it was the best purchase I ever made. Last year we took it with us on a houseboating trip and it stopped working due to it's lack of waterproofing. Dried it out and it worked okay until we took it to the beach, now it doesn't work at all. I've gone from loving the camera to regreting having forked out so much money for it.
Summary: The camera is very good. The image is very good, sharp, really good. But, waterproof ? Really ? Do not feel like Bozo, after trying to use it under water. I will send this back. Panasonic is trying to deceive people. It is a shame !
Summary: There is a reason this camera only comes with a 90-day warranty! If it lasts that long, it will be a miracle. Just weeks after our 3 months was up, the camera stopped working. It will not power up! It will not recharge! Basically it is dead in the box. Panasonic will happily REPAIR the camera for you for $90. That's right - after it dies in less than 6 months, they will happily charge you another $90 to FIX something that was probably wrong when it was manufactured!
Summary: I am very disjointed with this camera. I thought the flip out feature would be cool and make it easier to take pictures, instead it just does the opposite. The glare is so bad that you can't see what you are taking pictures of. Often I press down what used to be called a shutter release button and it doesn't take a picture. The picture quality is very disappointing as well.
Summary: Pro: this camera takes outstanding HD quality Video under good lighting conditions, I purchased it for the purpose of using it at Blizzard Beach Water park Florida and Snorkeling at Castaway Cay Bahamas during our Disney vacation, the results are beyond my expectation, the quality of videos under 60p frame rate are outstanding, editing those videos using Sony Vegas Pro and writing them on Blue ray is near phenomenal, I had planned to purchase one of the professional line...
Summary: This is a pretty good camera. Takes great HD videos and works well underwater. Takes good still photos as well. Biggest draw back is the controls are not easy to operate and are too close together.
Summary: I have had a Xacti Sanyo camera and it was wonderful. But the screen on it messed up as did my daughter-in-laws, same problem. So I started looking around for a replacement. I saw and read about the Panasonic HX-WA2 Waterproof Full HD Camcorder and it fit my budget and everything I needed. I purchased it and it came in a timely manner. A little bigger than my Xacti, but small enough to fit my needs. Takes beautiful videos and terrific stills. I really like it.
Summary: When my Flip Camcorder died on me (which I didn't care for anyway), I purchased this little gem. I also purchased an extra battery and charger (which is a must if you have this camera). Picture quality is great, color is excellent, HD=A+, easy to operate, and most importantly, getting the video to my computer is quick and easy, although I haven't figured out how to delete the video clips in the camera via the computer software yet. Still working on that.
