The HX-DC10 also supports ackside Illumination (BSI) technology for shooting in dimly lit conditions, allowing users to record in outdoor conditions, sports a 2.7 -inch wide TFT LCD monitor, has an optical 5x zoom/12x Advanced zoom for movie recording, E.I.S (Electrical Image Stabilizer), automatic optimal settings with iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, Face Detection and stereo microphones. It also supports mini HDMI Terminal that lets users connect the unit to a HDTV for Full-HD resolution playback, and is compatible with large-capacity recording media SDXC memory card. The camcorder also lets users upload their recordings online via the included HD Writer VE 1.0 software, which is compatible with both YouTube and Facebook.
