Summary: ***Posted frame grabs (above) from my very first day out with the camera testing it******** I was looking for a camera that would work well with my DSLR and Canon HFS200. Decided to go with the TM900 after seeing several reviews and the built in "Time Lapse" feature that would add more to my tool...
Summary: Those who have read my reviews know that I very rarely rate anything at 5 stars. This camcorder rates at least that many. I've had a Canon Vixia HD camcorder for a couple of years, and it's a fine camcorder, but the TM900 surpasses it both in image quality and in ease of use.
TM900K, Excellent Camcorder with Great Video and Images Like DSLR
Roger James "Doc", Amazon
13 March 2012
Summary: This is my third Panasonic camera that I bought sight unseen based upon the nice reviews on Amazon. It's like a blind date, you are not sure what you are getting. This blind date is a real winner!
Summary: I purchased a neutral density UV filter and lens cap to protect the lens. There's an automatic lens cover, but the filter helps when actively shooting in harsh conditions.
Pros: Image quality, Size, audio are the strong points of this HD camcorder. I have used the previous model (TM800) extensively producing outstanding results. The improvements to the TM900K makes it a solid successor. I have done image quality comparison against MPEG2, 50Mbs, 4:2:2 camcorders, and the ...
Cons: Different battery and power adapter than TM800. This won't be a problem if you don't already own the previous generation TM800. It is unclear that the battery and power adapter needed to be changed.
Summary: This camera is a fantastic feature packed HD delight. Looks fantastic on the flatscreen LED HDTV. I'm still learning all the features and I am completely satisfied with this camcorder. I got it while on sale with the free Dolica accessory pack. Great value for this.
Pros: Color accuracy from the 3MOS system, 1080-60p top mode along with others. Great stabilization. Plenty of manual controls. Built in mics are actually pretty good with decent channel separation.
Cons: Mediocre battey life with stock battery. Not the best in low light but not too bad either. Auto white balance struggles indoors at times. Must charge the battery on camera.
Pros: Beautiful video quality, colors seem better than the Canon and the backlight compensation is much better than the Canon. Easy to use, excellent battery life when using the viewfinder. Image stabilization very good also.
Summary: It is under my assumption that there are people who give "fake" bad reviews to Panasonic camcorders to steer customers in another brand's direction (particularly Sony). Panasonic has the best low lighting in the business. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
