Summary: We have been using this camera for about two years now. It is a dependable little fellow without any fuss. It is small enough to fit in a big pocket or one's backpack. Probably by now there are smaller ones, but would I be able to see a smaller screen? We will stick with this one for a while.
Summary: I'm with Ms. Garon in believing that I must have received a different camera. The numbers match up but the performance is far above what I have seen criticized. I received this as a gift about two years ago and have been happy with it ever since I took it out of the box. I really like the way the controls lay out. I can go from video to still work in the blink of an eye.
Summary: Although this camcorder is inexpensive, the video quality is unacceptable. You may want to take videos with your 720 p point and shoot camera, and that would produce much better videos. The point of a camcorder is to produce watchable videos and this camcorder sucks at that.
Summary: I have owned Panasonic products before but this is a piece of junk. Everything on it is cheap. I was particularly disappointed with the zoom part. It's incapable of doing anything! To get a video, you have to have plenty of room to do it; otherwise you're out of luck .
Pros: Records 1080i like a proper camcorder of it's price range, decent zoom speed, built in memory, use right out of the box, small, decent battery life, SDXC support, Stereo microphones sound good (for their size), outstanding stabilizer.
Cons: LED light breaks too easily (and isn't even really much of an LED), pain in the *** to repair, zoom lever is very fragile (pops off, needs to be taken apart and superglued on), only 16 GB built on, not for use by idiots, recording delay.
Summary: First, the indoor video quality isn't near a good as that on an Apple iPhone. We purchased this camera to video our newborn baby and we baby have a nice collect of dark, had to see videos of him laughing/playing. Second, the camera records in some funky format and you have to use the Panasonic software to convert it to mpeg so you can share on facebook/youtube. For filming outdoors I'd say it works fine, but there are better options out there.
Summary: Do not buy this camera. You cannot use it indoors. Quality is not HD unless outside in very bright sunlight. All indoor videos, no matter how good the lighting conditions are (even bright sunlight coming through a window), look splotchy like a damaged VHS tape. We are very disappointed.
