Low Light?

alexhirschmusic "Alex Hirsch", Amazon
1 February 2013
  • Summary: Many of the reviews I previously read before buying this camera claimed better picture quality in low light situations. I find the low light video to be average at best, not crisp at all, not really suitable for shooting video in say a recording studio with natural light.

Panasonic HDC-TM300 Camcorder

Richard Tarrant, Amazon
12 November 2011
  • Summary: As a historian I needed a reasonably priced and good camera to record oral histories and this camera filled the bill. I can't say enough about the picture quality. I had to look around to acquire an adequate wireless mic for remote recordings - found it - and I am pleased with the results.

Cool camcorder with grainy picture

FromPhilly, Amazon
30 November 2010
  • Summary: I filmed at the highest quality with all auto settings on to the hard drive and then a Class 6 Flash card and had grainy images. From the SD card my MacBook Pro easily pulled the file and when played back the edges of the image had a zipper like effect and everything else was fuzzy. The camera was good if I set it on a table and didn't move it, but what good is that.

Nice camcorder overall, not so great for low light!

reachvk, Ebay
8 September 2010
  • Summary: I got this on ebay last week, ordered from Japan, decided on this after extensive research before finalizing on the TM300 - I am happy with it in all respects except for its not-so-great low light performance. I had expected a lot with this one in low light, esp with the 3 MOS sensors that are said to separate the TM300 from the competition. Of course it is a lot superior to my 5 year old Canon DC40 DVD camcorder.

The camcorder is great but nothing else is

ken dunn, Amazon
9 August 2010
  • Summary: first the camcorder is outstanding. It offers multiple set-up choices and produces high quality HD movies in low light and with great sound. I know, I took a 30 minute movie inside a coal mine and it was outstanding. The camera is great but I have a problem in two other areas: (1) Panasonic never tells potential buyers that their capturing, editing, and burning software will not work on 64-bit Windows 7 - period.

Same as the HDC-TM300-K

Jam Balloon, Amazon
2 August 2010
  • Summary: I do not see any difference from this SILVER (Japanese Model) and the actual HDC-TM300-K (made for USA). I have looked at every single aspect and the numbers/specifications are the same. I was scare in buying this one over the black model because in all internet reviews the one that appears is the TM300-K so I thought they were different in quality. Not to mention the over $400 in price difference...
