Summary: This only records to the dvd about 76% of the time, it does not even tell you that there is an errror. you don't find out after you try to watch it. I now have to buy a different one after spending $700 on this a year ago since we have missed to many events that we thought we recorded...but didn't.
Summary: I've used it twice on vacations to Scotland and England. Full 1080i i recordings. Does a great job in well lighten areas, not so good in poorly lit areas. I havent experienced any problems with this camcorder. It would be nice to have a hard drive instead of the DVD, but the SD cards work great and easy transfer to my Mac..The colors are vivid and detailed and its a bargan at it s price.. It also takes pretty descent stlll shots too!
Summary: I bought this camcorder in 2008 and have used it on trips and vacations it works excellent, it records superbly on sd cards or mini dvd discs in the avchd format in HD that plays on SONY BLU-RAY players, or on most blu-ray players by now i would assume.very cool and very clear.no big problems as you just have to read the manual and learn how to use the technology, anyone bellyaking about the camera is not reading the manual or cant learn!
Summary: I've owned this item for 2 years now and it has been really great. I use it to shoot music videos and the quality of the sequences shot outdoors is very good and the colours are quite nice. The battery life is excellent. Very easy to edit in Final Cut Express software. The only cons are: The depth of field is a bit tricky and not great even when you do get it to work. You could probably buy a lens for this.
Summary: Sure, it's not perfect, but for the price, you simply cannot beat this. Pick up a couple of 8GB memorycards and you are good to go (they are cheap!). Pluses: -Optical Image Stabilizer -HD!!!! (1920x1080i) - Good Quality in daylight/normal light indoors -SDHC cards (cheap and high capacity) -DVD burner if you want to make Standard Def captures and burn for regular dvd playback.
Summary: Well worth the price and then some. I'm tempted to give it 5 stars due to price but the low light picture is not good enough and AVCHD is too annoying at this time. Pros: - HD Camcorder with 3 CCD and O.I.S. (prevents blurry images) - 2 Good and inexpensive media options (mini DVD and SDHC) - AVCHD Should have a long future ahead with Blu-Ray winning the HD war - Easy to use - All the features I need and more - Crisp vivid footage outside and in bright lighting - Price...
