Panasonic HDC-SD9 review

best4reviews.com
16 December 2008
  • Summary: The Panasonic HDC-SD9 is small and perfectly formed, but appears more a triumph of design and engineering over performance - meaning that there are models out there (JVC's GZ-HD3) that will deliver better overall results for a similar price or a little bit more (£100+ in the case of the JVC).
  • Pros: Small yet well constructed, fast in operation, storage capacity expandable via larger SDHC media, easy to use and can be carried in the pocket
  • Cons: Storage via SD media only, picture and audio not as impressive as competing larger build models

Panasonic HDC-SD9

CNET
12 December 2008
  • Summary: Despite its trio of CCDs, the video quality and performance of the Panasonic HDC-SD9 are a bit too inconsistent.
  • Pros: Compact and lightweight; saturated colors.
  • Cons: Moderate to low-light videos look cloudy; some awkward design choices; smallish LCD with terrible color reproduction; awful bundled software.

  • Summary: The HDC-SD9 is an evolutionary upgrade of the SD5. While the majority of changes are arguably minor, they combine to lift the camcorder head-and-shoulders above its predecessor, not to mention the majority of competitors.
  • Pros: Ultra lightweight design, stunning 'full HD' video resolution, improved battery/SD card arrangement, solid still images mode, Face Detection technology
  • Cons: SDHC media not cheap, no external microphone jack

Panasonic HDC-SD9 review

PC Advisor
5 January 2008
  • Summary: Acclaimed for its three-CCD sensor set-up, Panasonic's HDC-SD9 is half the size of competing camcorders – due in part to its favouring of SD storage.

  • Pros: 3CCD; Filmati in HD; Interfaccia HDMI; Registrazione su schede SD/SDHC; Dimensioni e peso
  • Cons: Risoluzione sensore
