Panasonic HDC-SD800K Review

Review guidelines
14 May 2013
  • Summary: The Panasonic HDC-SD800K is definitely one of the best Full HD video cameras currently on the market. Excellent opportunity to make filming in 3D with optional lens even if not understood, aspect that has to be reported as a real downside to this camera, in addition to the price that is definitely not for all pockets. Certainly, those who can afford this camera will surely not be disappointed certainly.
  • Pros: Advanced 3MOS System, 1080/50p recording, OIS HYBRID OIS, iA Mode, Shooting 3D; Face Recognition
  • Cons: Price; Shooting 3D with optional lens

Panasonic HDC x900

9 September 2011
  • Summary: Panasonic's trio of prosumer camcorders, the hard-disk-based HDC-HS900 and flash-based TM900 and SD800, deliver generally excellent video quality and provide the full set of manual controls and features advanced users want. But you have to be willing to baby the white balance a bit. The TM900 is my top pick of the three for its EVF, but if you're on a tight budget the SD800 should suit just fine.
  • Pros: Generally excellent video quality and a straightforward, if somewhat unglamorous, interface highlight the Panasonic HDC-HS900 , TM900 , and SD800 's capabilities.
  • Cons: Wonky white balance and lack of a built-in neutral density filter are the two biggest drawbacks of an otherwise very good series of prosumer camcorders.

Panasonic HDC-SD800 Review

Digital Camera Review
27 April 2011
  • Excerpt: The Panasonic HDC-SD800 HD Camcorder is part of the new, 4-model HDC series of camcorders from Panasonic, which are the follow-ups to the successful 700 HDC models. Priced at $849.99 -- the lowest out of the four new HDC models -- the SD800 offers a competitive price for great HD video at 60 fps, but is also lacking in some respects, proving that you get what you pay for.

Panasonic HDC-SD800 review

24 March 2011
  • Excerpt: Panasonic's single-sensor Panasonic HDC-SD90 impressed us with its detailed outdoor footage. The HDC-SD800 doesn't have the SD90's accessory shoe or microphone input - you'll need to buy the high-end HDC-SD900 for those - but its array three dedicated CMOS sensors (one each for red, green and blue light) promise superior image quality.

5 August 2011

Expert Review

18 March 2011
  • Pros: Sistema 3MOS avanzato; Registrazione 1080/50p; Stabilizzatore ottico HYBRID O.I.S.; Modalità iA; Riprese 3D; Face Recognition
  • Cons: Prezzo; Riprese 3D con lente opzionale
