Summary: If looking for a performant camcorder without breaking the bank this might be it. 2 lows: the mode selector button seems to malfunction after heavy use and the proprietary 60 frame format is too hard to view on computers.
Summary: Purchased this camera in January of 2011 after a long search for the right camcorder in the $300-$400 range. Personally, I was pleased with this camera as it was the first I had ever purchased. That being said, I have learned more about cameras and now, a year later it was sold in order to upgrade.

Summary: UPDATED WARRANTY INFORMATION (12/30/2010): Since there seems to be so much confusion and misinformation about warranty issue surrounding this camcorder, I decided to update this review to include the correct warranty information. I have personally spoken to Pansonic and confirmed the US warranty. To check if you have a US version of this camcorder model (NTSC recording format), remove the camcorder battery.
Summary: This is my second attempt at purchasing a 1080P Camcorder that could produce reasonable quality video's. Positives: The video's this produces are vibrant and rich with the microphone clearly picking up and faithfully reproducing the sounds. Wind noise limitation is reasonable considering the location of the microphone. The image stabilization works very well for such a small unit and the HDMI output is a great feature.

Summary: Pro: good image quality, light weight and compact size con: fan noise. recording button noise 1) fan noise: if you film indoors with very quite environment, you will notice the fan noise when you playback with almost max audio volume. Not a big issue if you film outdoors. 2) when stop filming by press recording button, it adds click noise to the end of the clip. not a issue if you use the recording button on the LCD.
Summary: I bought this after stumbling upon this from other reviewers. But could not find easy way to get technical details. For sake of other's benefit I list here the links that you can use to do your research. Overall, in the limited time I used, I like the quality and my main reason to go for this is the 3-MOS. I had a Sony DCR-TRV900 which is my all time favourite. Great Low-light and color accuracy on the sony except it is not HD.
