Soft edge focus problems with lens, TOOK 3 to get it right
L. Schrader, Amazon

Summary: This camera is a great recorder, but I had to go through a few of them before I found one that worked for me. When I got my first one, I looked at the image on a resolution chart and the right side of the image was soft, so back to Amazon. Second camera came and it was soft on the left, back that one went. On the third time I got a great camera and lens, I am just leaving two stars, because I had to go through so many returns with Amazon, they almost closed my account.
Summary: I was initally very impressed when this camcorder arrived. The picture quality is very good, the microphone does pick up any wind noise when playing back through your television is very noticeable. The overall functionality and set up was very easy, overall a great camcorder. Sadly, I have to say after the day after it went beyond its 12 month guarantee the camera has failed.
Summary: I bought the SD600 after reading all the reviews here. One such review mentioned that there was a fan noise but it was not noticable in recordings. I beg to differ. I recorded my first few minutes of my kids in our kitchen and played it back and the very first thing we noticed was a humming noise in the recording.
Summary: I bought the Panasonic SD-600 after glowing reviews, it seemed to be the perfect camcorder for my needs, as a home cinema fan with a large 104 inch full HD 1920x1080p projection setup, i tend to notice issues on formats like blu ray and i write reviews for my own website on such issues.
Pros: Build Quality, Remote Control, Manual and Automatic Focus
Summary: Whilst the SD600 is undoubtedly a great performer in good light, beware if you're a low-light shooter. I had assumed that the 3CMOS sensors would greatly outperform the single CMOS SD60 in low light (I'm talking subdued theatre lighting - around EV5) but I could see no difference - both produced very grainy footage with low frame rates. I have rated it down purely to draw attention to this mis-conception.
