Battery life is amazing!

fc_shop, Ebay
12 February 2012
  • Summary: I just got this solid beauty. The only thing I can stress about is not able to see the recording formats (ex. 24p, 60p etc.) So far, i can see this piece being a great unit for b-rolls, documentaries.

Good Low Cost High Value Set to Auto function, small is good for small hand

lanukip, Ebay
7 December 2011
  • Summary: Good video with very little motion blur when panning, i dont care about sound so its "OK" but it does have wind cut. It is very small, maybe a little too small so its finicky in my hand to try and find a confortable grip, my previous was a sony hd camcorder and i am tall, so this may not have been a good fit anyway.

Crisp clear outdoor shooting

Reviewing in N.H., Amazon
2 February 2010
  • Summary: I've had this product for more than a year now and so far I love how crisp the pictures are with natural lights around. Outdoor is superb indoor is good. If there's a natural light from a window it'll have a great result, but the noise level is noticeable with low lightings. I love the settings that they have with intellipix and intelligent contrast and backlight compensation and a few others, it certainly helps with the low lighting situation.

HanyCam

  • Summary: Works great but in low light conditions the video isn't that great. Well lit and sunny areas the HandyCam captures great HD video.

Getting Close to Ideal...

Online Shopper, Amazon
26 August 2008
  • Summary: Fantastic HD flash camera that takes great video in well-lighted scenes. Very small and comfortable to hold. It uses a smaller sensor than the HDC-SD1 so the video quality isn't as high, but it's not all that noticeable. Dark scenes do seem grainy, however. Unfortunately they removed the external mic jack (as well as 5.1 audio) from the SD1, so your audio options are limited to the built-in stereo mic. Another annoyance is the price bundling.

Panasonic got it right

dcJohn "jwind", Amazon
26 August 2008
  • Summary: Panasonic got a lot of things right with this camera. It has a fantastic form factor--small, light, and very comfortable to hold and use. It's ready to point and shoot, and for folks with more video experience, there's good options for manual control of white balance, iris, shutter, gain, etc. Auto-focus is quick, zoom control is easy to keep smooth, and image stabilization is exceptional.

MW264, Rate it all!
21 August 2008
  • Summary: Up until this camcorder I was recording off of the HDV format. With the emergence of Blue-Ray as the winner of the HD war, I decided to switch. After much research, I bought this model refurbished from Amazon Warehouse Deals. The first one arrived without a battery, so I returned it. The second one arrived in great condition (except for a tattered box) with all parts accounted for.

T.Fisher, Rate it all!
9 August 2008
  • Summary: I bought this camera after much research. My previous camera was a Sony. I needed a camera that was compatible with Apple. It has mostly worked well. However, some video has not and I've had to rely on PC in order to download my video. I find Panasonic's customer support to be a bit lacking. I also had a hard time finding another battery to purchase. Every site that carried them was out of stock. Thankfully one was sufficient.
