Summary: I did a lot of reading relative to Camcorders and finally ended with Panasonic HDC-HS9. Since this is my first experience with camcorders, I have bought other Panasonic items thru e-bay and do not have any complaints so far as to their performance, quality and price. At the present I am still reading the manual, going back and forth, page after page in order to sequentially get acquainted with all the features the camera has to offer.
Summary: I use the cam for short videoclips and stills; mostly outdoors and on a boat fishing. Compact and easy to operate; the 3 second preshoot is invaluable. I just wish they had made it full 1080P 60 FPS. Spare Batteries not available from any retailer near me.
Pros: 3 second prerecord, Comfortable to Operate, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Simple Controls, Versatile
Cons: Can't use 3rd party batts, No local batteries
Summary: Very clear video. Compact and fits perfectly in my hand. The buttons are small and a little "sticky" so it may be difficult for someone with big fingers to operate the menu screen. Battery life seems pretty good. You have to use their software which is not very compatible with my computer so watching and editing the videos on my computer are choppy.
Pros: Comfortable to Operate, Durable, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound
Summary: Hey there folks, I've bought the camera on e-bay a few weeks ago. It's awesome!! It satisfies my needs and it has a lot of accessories. It's small compact awesome 3CCD technology. The 60 gig HDD and the SD slot make it easier to transfer the movies via USB 2.0 or card reader ( SD ONLY). The annoying part is the menu button and its left-right, up-down button. IT'S FREAKIN' SMALL!!!
