Excerpt: I wanted to get a second HDC-HS900, but they apparently stopped making it without first supplying a suitable replacement. I guess the HC-X920 is now the highest level pro-sumer camera that Panasonic makes. While it does have a couple of advances (higher resolution stills, wifi), I feel like this camera seems like it should be a pre-HS900 model, rather than post. It seems needlessly larger, bulkier, and it even feels like a cheaper plastic unit.
Pros: Great Picture Quality, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Cons: Accessory Shoe On Side, No Accessory Shoe On Top, Poor Sound
Don't be in a hurry to utilize it after you buy it

Summary: I've been an ardent amateur photographer for years. I've had local camera stores ask to exhibit my photos and run week long exhibitions of my work to show what can be done by an amateur with good equipment. They've even sold some of my photos for me. In addition to building and programming my own personal computers for the past eighteen years, I am technologically sophisticated, particularly when it comes to camera gear. This purchase was my first digital cam-corder.
Summary: I know some people say 24P doesn't matter...but it does to me. I saw someone say that "Cinema Mode" is 24P. It is not, it's 29.97 *interlaced.* Otherwise, pretty nice cam in general. Works well in low light. I had trouble with the WiFi (I am a network consultant, should be able to make it work) and between that and the lack of 24P, I guess I'm sorry that I bought accessories already because it's going back.
Excerpt: The video quality was good but I found this camera ran a little hot for my liking. I ran it for only a few minutes and it started to get extremely hot. In all fairness I only operated it for a few minutes before deciding to return it. I may have gotten one with a factory defect. I had ordered two but did not try the other one after testing this one.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality
Summary: I bought this camera and wound up returning it. As much as I wanted it to work - it wasn't for me. The zoom would flicker on objects in the background which makes the video look really bad and as I often blog (use the camera facing me) - it was a pain in the behind that the controls aren't available on the touch screen when you flip it over. And, as nice as the iPhone feature is ... it doesn't replace a necessary remote control for simple start / stop.

Summary: Updating the review after more analysis. Its a great camera, and I'd give it 4 stars, however.. I'm going to keep at 3 stars so that panasonic understands it needs to work on its White Balance features and color accuracy. With the default settings and intelligent auto, there is a "cool tone" in the picture. Although this camera has the best sharpness, The Canon G20 and Sony CX760 both excel in color saturation/white balance.
