Summary: I have owned about 12 camcorders over the years going clear back to when they had batteries that had to be worn as a backpack and took VHS tapes. Most of my equipment has been Panasonic. We had wonderful experiences with quality and durability with this brand in the past. However, I've been very disappointed with my Panasonic camcorders as of late. My last model was the HDC-TM700. It performed fantastically..
Summary: Pros - Takes pretty good video. - WiFi Remote Control. Cons - Viewfinder is almost unusable. - When the LCD touch screen is flipped over to include the shooter, the controls disappear! Why? - Video of concerts is quite grainy. - The Live Streaming Option doesn't really work unless you pay for a Lumix Club Membership. Why can't I just pump the video to Ustream directly? - The automatic horizon leveling feature only works for very, very small angles.
Excerpt: I work doing video production for a university and my supervisor purchased this to replace an old Panasonic mini DV camcorder. I've been doing video production professionally for about six years and have worked on a number of projects with camcorders, DSLR's, Micro 4/3 and RED rigs. That being said, this is the absolute worst camera I have ever used.
Pros: Good Image Stabilization
Cons: Difficult To Expose Right, Poor Image Quality, Poor In Low Light, Poor White Balance
Viewfinder did not work. Replaced with a "refurbished" camera. Boo

Summary: I bought this camera to take on a trip to Europe. There were many sunny days and the manual viewfinder would not work. Trying to look into the lcd screen in bright sunlight just doesn't work. You can't see it (on any camera). I contacted support and they said send it back and they would send me a refurbished one. So, great! I paid top dollar for a refurbished camera. There was very little communication except send it back.

Summary: Just one major problem with this new x920 camera. I have updated from the sd900 and mostly filmed children and choirs singing and found the best results were when I turned the screen 180 degress to face the children and as I panned and zoomed the children would smile as they saw their faces come into view. Obviously I used the eye viewfinder since the lcd screen faced the children.
Summary: I bought this after some years' experience with a Panasonic HDC-SD60, an improvement in versatility and at least an equal optical performance. On comparison it is clear: my old SD60 takes better (i.e. sharper) pictures and has a greater zoom ratio with clearer pictures at either end. The one feature of the X920 which appeals is its time-lapse ability, which admittedly is fascinating.
