Summary: Received the camera and set it up to record my department lecture events. Huge problem: the iA icon which was persistently on the LCD screen is also being output via HDMI - which renders the camera unusable. I called Pana tech support. Their camera was doing the same thing, and the person also couldn't figure out how to get the icon to turn off. He escalated the issue and said it could take 7-10 business days to get a returned call. Totally unacceptable.

Summary: First, I make independent films and was hoping to have another back-up camera for filming. If you are interested in shooting movie-like recordings with this camera, FORGET IT. The HC-X900 does NOT shot at 24fps (or at least, if it does, it's incredibly difficult to track down this information in the complex and strangely written guide.) 24fps cinema shooting capability is common on cameras at 1/10th the price. Where is it on this thousand dollar mess?
Unhappy With Features, Mfg Support, Poor Documentation

Summary: I'm very disappointed, don't buy this camera unless you have (or plan to also purchase) 60P video editing software, SDXC cards, an external card reader and an off-camera charger. The camera off button is in an awkward location. You have to flip open the side panel and you can't tilt the display or it blocks the off button. Don't use the "handy" quick start function.
