Excerpt: I bought this camera after a very long reviewing process, so many brands and models. What eventually made me decide on the V720 is the 50X zoom, as I needed to get some close-up shots of aircraft at the Airport. I have used the camera only in Auto mode, haven't messed with any of the manual features. Everything has worked fine and the videos have turned out quite well.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Summary: I use this camera for surveillance. It is plugged in and runs 24/7 since the day it arrived. The 64gb card records for 28 hours. No problems. Stays cool. I would have to say it is a great camera. I would buy it again.
Excerpt: Great picture. New to the digital world of camcorders. Did a lot of research and decided on the Panasonic 720. Very pleased with decision. User friendly and the picture stabilization feature is amazing. Bought to video indoor basketball games. It is awesome indoors and outdoors.
terrible picture quality - my iPhone takes much better pictures

Summary: I dumped $500 on this piece of mess, and I'm going to throw it away. Side-by-side comparisons of the same scene at the same time, shot with the V720 and the iPhone5 revealed the V720 to be shockingly inferior. The V720 focus was always slightly off, despite shooting on manual focus at infinity. The contrasts are punched so hard that the colors bleed into each other.
Excerpt: I was hoping this would have a higher-quality picture than it does. The video screen display is lovely, but the resulting video doesn't come close to the preview. I shoot video in relatively low-light small coffeehouse venues. The camera's resulting video appears out of focus (soft) and with little contrast. Post-processing required. I saw other reviews about being able to hear the zoom control click in the final video. And that is the case.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: I do local recordings of meetings, plays, bands, etc. I've even done local commercials for some antique retailers. I have been in the market for a new camera. I researched cameras for weeks prior to purchasing one. I finally decided to go with the HC-V720. I was pretty excited about getting it, considering the reviews it has seen. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed. I am returning the camera for a refund to put towards something else. (I have yet to decide).
Pros: Great Sound, Large Clear LCD
Cons: Poor Image Quality, Poor In Low Light, Poor Still Image
Excerpt: I use this for instructional videos that I post on YouTube. Before this camera, I was using a Canon T3 (720p), which does not do autofocus while in movie mode, so that I had to manual focus every time I changed the view. The autofocus on the V720 is a lot more convenient, but I found the picture quality less, both in terms of color rendering and sharpness, even though the V720 does 1080p.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good battery life, Good in Low Light, Large Clear LCD
