Summary: A very nice AVCAM HD Camcorder . You can even Uodate the Software and camera firmware online. Suggest you use Cyberware or Sony Vegas Software to view and edit your HD videos.?One Question did arise , I have seen where you can remove the lens hood to use UV lens adapters and a 49 mm Tulip lens Hood for a different look in Outdoor Video shooting. RSVP with your suggestions , thanks.
Summary: Right off the top, let me say that the camera is fantastic! I mainly shoot theatrical productions and I was able to capture very clean footage from 80 feet away from the stage. I felt the camera was very intuitive to use straight out of the box and absolutely love the three rings and their functions. Since theater lights tend to change, A LOT, I got great use of the Iris ring. I am very happy with my purchase.
Summary: This is a great camera for 2008 (when I was lasting shooting video) - prior to full-on DOF/bokeh madness. I bought this camera for higher ed interviews and lectures and it's amazing with the right amount of light - but in a pre-DSLR way. I was initially thinking for lectures a DSLR wasn't going to cut it and for interviews I didn't want to have to build some crazy rig with a separate audio deck/recorder. But now I'm regretting this purchase.
Excerpt: This is good camera at a friendly price. The digital zoom is not all that spectacular (at least not through the LCD) but the controls and menus are easy to access and use. The output looks good and the color is good. Please note that the AG-AC90A, while listed on the Panasonic USA website, is not intended for sale in the US. When trying to register this camera for the free Panasonic 3-year warranty, you must enter Japan as the country of sale.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy to Use, Efficient, Quality Construction
Excerpt: I have used this camcorder for about a year with great success professionally. We mainly shoot aviation action dvds. I use 1080 60P in case we need to edit up some smooth slow motion. I have shot in low light, bright light and with the sun at me. The camera performs well however I suggest learning to use it in manual mode and lock down the ATW or you will see some lighting variances in your raw video.
Pros: 60p Capability, Great Audio With Xlr, price, SD cards
Excerpt: I have had this product for almost six months and I wish I never bought it. It is nice but it is not what I thought it was going to be. Under really good circumstances, its a decent camera. This thing is real real nasty in low light. I went on a trip to Europe and brought this camera with me and I almost wanted to give up because it was not performing as well as I wanted too. There were a couple of really cool buildings that were lit up at night.
