Excerpt: I use this for legal video (#CLVS) mostly. It is great for live events, and Indie Filmmaking too. Lots of bells and whistles and of course the book doesn't come with. Just the general book does though. You can find the more informative user manual online though. The size is a touch bigger then I like. I miss the smaller size of my AG-DVX-100. This is about an inch and a half longer and 2 inches higher. Would be great if they kept the S-video plug too.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Has Timedate Stamp, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: This camera is excellent in low light. The setting for outside are the best with the filters. I shoot in Arizona where the light is very bright and the filters are an excellent way to go with this type of weather conditions. I don't like the way the LCD screen opens. It sticks more than the old version. But otherwise a great camera. I would recommend it to anyone working in professional or semi-professional film.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom
Excerpt: Just got this camera and so far so good. Even though it is unusual to freehand this camera, because of its size, it is balanced and designed well. The only complaint I have, and its because I missed it, you can only transfer SD video through the cables. If you shoot HD you must read from the SD card.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: Being used for YouTube videos. Sharp, awesome color. Best of breed right now. It's big, but is the right size. Could use a shoulder mount attachment. The AC130AP is not a hand held unless you lift weights routinely : ) In comparison, the Canons (XA 20 or 25) are too small. Great if you have tiny hands.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: This is a Professional Camera. It's not consumer or even prosumer. This camera was designed for people who know how (and want) to use all the advanced features and manual controls. It was not designed to be a point and shoot camera. If you need a camera that shoots stills, get something else (that's a consumer feature, professionals don't need it IMO) If you don't understand why this camera only uses 24-hour time, you're not a professional.
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom
Excerpt: Pros: • 22X Optical Zoom (some camcorders have only a 10x zoom - how Pathetic). • 72 mm lens (filter size) • Several External Controls. • XLR Inputs. • Well Constructed, even the caps for the jacks are better than some others. • Even with the Camcorder being Heavier (see below) - the Side Grip is well positioned to make it really well balanced (really Helps on Handheld shots). This camcorder being well balanced. • Most Buttons are either recessed etc.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: I absolutley like this camera! In the 10 days since I received my AG-AC130 I have shot an indoor, live band peformance and an exterior short drama-documentary project. The camera performed above my expectations! Placing the ScanDisk 64GB in my computer card reader, a file cut & paste and I was editing with my NLE in seconds! What a time saver... I dragged my feet about giving up my old Panasonic camera (it was that good), but this investment was past due!
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom
Summary: We bought these for multicam live production at our church. We also do teaching DVD's, live streaming and documentary production. Several of us in the congregation are pros and use the cameras for corporate projects as well. Amazing picture, great in low light, lightweight, dual SD cards are the best! Yes it's an ugly square Panny design as usual, but the video is real sharp. Glass is nice and wide and the zoom is smooth enough. Can't say enough good things.
Summary: Great camera. I upgraded from using multiple DVX-900B units. Some small features garnered big points from me about this model: Lens: Incredibly wide and has excellent zoom properties. Though I wish it was a servo zoom - or at least had one more faster zoom speed, it is smooth and precise. I don't see a need to buy an additional wide angle with this superior lens. I love (finally) having ALC for audio (but still has the limiter function if you prefer) when I need it.
