The Right Choice Between DSLR and Video Camera Features.

Randal A., Amazon
10 April 2015
  • Summary: The Panasonic AC-130 was a great Investment for our video production business. We were very skeptical before purchasing this camera because we were so used to the quality coming out of our Nikon SLR systems.

  • Summary: This camcorder is a workhorse. The ability for redundant recording on an additional card is a great benefit. The controls are easy to reach and operate.

Great Camera

Tom in Washington, B&H Photo
6 October 2014
  • Excerpt: This is my first review here. I am not a high end professional yet wanted something better than the average fare you see in the stores. It is confusing. It seems all the manufactures have something close in features and price. But what to get?
  • Pros: Affordable, Easy to Use, Great Audio, Great Zoom, Media storage, Studio Work

Great camera for students

Mr. Henson the teacher, B&H Photo
18 September 2014
  • Excerpt: We use three of these cameras with Revo 1000 shoulder mounts to film sporting events, and they are fantastic. Their auto settings are reliable, the transfer is extremely quick, and the lens and image are wide and high quality.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Zoom range/performance

Not too shabby

Tall Cool Teach, B&H Photo
31 July 2014
  • Excerpt: A great camera for the $$. However, I am actually more displeasd that the price difference between the 130 and 160 is [$]. I cannot see how one HDSDI connection justifies the price hike.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Zoom

3rd time I've bought a Panasonic & happy

CFA Weiss, B&H Photo
15 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I use this for legal video (#CLVS) mostly. It is great for live events, and Indie Filmmaking too. Lots of bells and whistles and of course the book doesn't come with. Just the general book does though. You can find the more informative user manual online though.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Has Timedate Stamp, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance

I like the settings of the camera

JMTV, B&H Photo
9 March 2014
  • Excerpt: This camera is excellent in low light. The setting for outside are the best with the filters. I shoot in Arizona where the light is very bright and the filters are an excellent way to go with this type of weather conditions. I don't like the way the LCD screen opens.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom
  • Cons: Poor Still Image

Easy to freehand

GK, B&H Photo
12 February 2014
  • Excerpt: Just got this camera and so far so good. Even though it is unusual to freehand this camera, because of its size, it is balanced and designed well. The only complaint I have, and its because I missed it, you can only transfer SD video through the cables.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
