Summary: I bought this camcorder for use in my career as videographer for our local school sports activities. This camera has not been produced since about 2001 but is a real "workhorse" on the job. I do a play X play with each game and this camcorder allows me to rest the camera on my shoulder while when I use my "external" microphone. It is reasonably light weight, and the battery will last nearly an hour when fully charged.
Good, relevant video camera for live or taped production even in 2012.

Summary: This camera still holds up well in 2012. By sending the camera's analog signal to your computer directly via an analog-digital converter and adding a few enhancements through software such as Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere, your video footage will rival the 3CCD images that are more common in today's video production market. The AG-456's built-in features allow for more effects than many of today's video cameras offer.
The Panasonic AG 456U is a professional's workhorse.

Summary: I have used Panasonic AG 456 and AG 460 cameras many times to shoot concerts, sports events and seminars in the past. I am very pleased to have picked up this well maintained AG 456 on eBay. I can now hook this camera up to my Sony RM-E100V editing controller and Sony SLV-R1000 S-VHS VCR (both also purchased on eBay) to make basic edits.
Summary: Panasonic has always had my vote along with Sony Camcorders. As a Video Producer it's important for me to produce the best quality videos for my clients. I also product weekly cable programs and The panasonic I bought brings good quality video and audio. It does have some little scratches but none of that effect the video quality of this Camera. The Price was right and worth the wait. I would buy another Panasonic in a heart beat.
