Great for unusual uses: filming plays, birds in nests, and model rockets

Summary: I have been using this camera for about 9 months now. My primary uses are filming grade school plays, and taking slow motion video of my children's hobbies (launching model rockets). I am quite satisfied with the camera. I am the "official" videographer for our local elementary school. I do this on a voluntary basis, but have 8 years of experience now. I use three "real" video cameras (Sony HDR-HC1 and two Panasonic 3MOS cameras, HDC-S600 and HDC-TM900).
Summary: I was looking for a camera to take on vacation and decided to go with this one. I did not want to spend my whole time behind a view finder. The head mount is a little uncomfortable but that might be due to the shape of my head. The battery life is fairly good for all that it does. When it is set to streaming, it really drains the battery fast. The picture quality is really great for a fixed lens, zoom is out of the question.
Excerpt: I use a lot of POV sport cameras and thought I'd give this a try as I like the form factor coming from broadcast POV camera/recorder units. Unfortunately despite the design, this is a failure. The only good thing about it is the mounts are much better than GoPros. And now, the bad... -No swappable battery -No controls on recorder unit except start/stop and Wifi.
Summary: The Camera is great. Really. In my opinion it is also safer to have a camera by the side than to mount on your forehead in case of impact. The view the camera captures looks good to me and I think the functionality is great (wifi connectivity, over the web viewing etc). One thing that I find difficult is to learn to use the camera. I only learn how to use the functions after a few uses to be able to take the nice POV videos and the automated timed shots.
Summary: Took the camera on a recent trip to Europe. It was great! It captured everything I was viewing without having to put a camera to my eye. I used the iPhone app to view what I was shooting. You do nee to set some things on the camera and app way before you pal an to use it. It is not an "out-of-box" usable camera, but once it is set up, it works great!
Summary: Video quality not as good as go pro but size and form better. Live streaming is very hard to set up and have yet to do it and I work in streaming video. Tested durability by letting 5 year old wear in snow storm. Get video artifacts and dropped frames occasionally. Battery use could be better. Overall good product if you are experienced with video streaming and networking. Not so great for average user. Panasonic has newer model out that will do 4k. Not sure of the cost.
Good for YouTube & Web Videos, Terrible for Viewing on HDTV

Summary: As a loyal Panasonic photo/video products fan and experienced user (incl. the company's MFT cameras and lenses) I think this camera is a disappointing contender in a market dominated by GoPro, in spite of clever product design and iOS device connectivity. In summary: The video quality is not up-to-par for viewing on a large HDTV and the item is too expensive compared to the EXCELLENT Polaroid XS100, which delivers full 1080p w/a 16MP sensor and is priced $100 to $150...
