Summary: I bought this to record live music performances, to replace my Kodak Zi8. The Zi8, although a great video recorder, lacks in the audio performance, due to inferior mics and the inability to turn off auto limiting. The Olympus gives you total control over audio, plus has great built-in mics. No need to use an external mic on the Olympus. I knocked off one star on the rating due to the fact that you can't set the unit on a tripod and record until the memory is used up.
Summary: I'm would give this 5 Stars if not for the Charging issues. See below on charging. I have owned the LS-10 and LS-11. I love the Video. So many times I want to record Video and consider using my phone (which has pretty good video), but the audio stinks, so I just end up using the LS-11. But now I can have both. On lowest Video Quality MOV uses MP3 Embedded Audio and Won't play on stock Windows 7. You need to find drivers or a player that can handle it.
Summary: Carry this in my shirt pocket all the time. Great audio. Video is good as long as there is light. Agree with others that it is awkward having the LCD screen on the top when aiming the camera. Also wish that there was a decent windsock available for the mics - the wind noise picked up is very annoying. But overall, it is a very good recorder for its size.
Summary: I had a chance to use the camera quite a bit in the last few days. I think it works great for what I need it for. I did a outdoor venue and left the camera running and it stopped after 40 minutes. I am not sure if the battery died or if it was because the file was too large. I wish it had a light on the top to let you know that it is recording? In the indoor venue it was difficult to see if it was recording and keep checking in the dark on a tripod?
Summary: Video and audio quality are awesome. Just started and easy to use, though you would never guess that from the user's manual, which has very small font and not always easy to follow, hence getting 4 of 5 stars.
Summary: I should start off by saying I have owned both the Olympus LS-10 and LS-11 and have been very happy with both. They have become an invaluable tool for recording quick song ideas, rehearsals and in a pinch when I've had to send off a song to someone with just acoustic guitar and vocals sound quality has been very good. On the strength of these, I ordered the LS-20M.
Excellent audio and video. Awkward location of camera.

Summary: I have had the chance to check out the LS-20M recently and compare it to the Zoom Q3 HD and Olympus audio recorder LS-11. BUILD: The LS-20M has a more solid feel than the plasticky Zoom, but I sure wish the LS-20M had an all metal chassis like the LS-11, which feels weighty and much more durable. I like the all button approach of the Zoom and LS-20M, as opposed to the dials for the levels and volume control on the LS-11.
Summary: On the move I have always needed a high quality stereo SD recorder. I have been through a variety of handheld 24bit 96KHz recorders from the likes of Tascam and Zoom, recently progressing through the Zoom Q3 and then the 90% there Zoom Q3HD. Having great stereo capture with the option to capture so-called HD is very attractive.
