Summary: This little camera has served me amazingly well in the past 2.5 years. The video quality is phenomenal, although it does degrade a bit in lower lighting. I took this with me to document a 3 week trip to Japan, and I've ended up with a massive collection of beautiful memories.
Summary: I got this camera in early 2011 after a ton of research and near sleepless nights reading reviews & watching video. Color me obsessed. The Zi8 is not perfect, but for the money and features it will deliver what you need.
Summary: I bought this camera for my daughter and she seems happy with it - and likes the fact it is so "simple" to operate. It does not come w a carry case or memory card, hence, it is not an "option" to spend at least $40 extra...and really more like $50-$60 just to get started.
Summary: Lets get to the point Small, light, high definition, no auto focus, has macro focus mode, good battery, image stabilization. Easily playable on computer and uploadable to youtube. Honestly its more than worth the cost.
Summary: I wanted to create a video review for those of you interested in seeing real time how this camera performs. My experience is amazing and the clarity is amazing! While in bright conditions the glare on monitor is a little more difficult to see.
Good and cheap HD video, but is limited in stereo playback for analog TVs.

Summary: I have both the Zi8 and the Zi10 "TouchPlay" Kodak Cameras. This review is for the Zi8. I use the camera for making videos of my band. I like hte fact that the Kodak Zi cameras have the ability to use an external stereo mic/line source for the audio instead of the internal mono built-in microphone.
Summary: This is a pretty decent camera, all complaints aside. For a simple end user, who isn't in it for high quality, it does what it is meant to do fairly well. Takes pictures and records footage in a small enough package that it can be slid into your pocket.
Summary: Pro's - Camera is light takes out Full HD video capable of supporting 32GB memory card comes with charger with a range of 100 to 240V which means it can be used just about anywhere has a USB port on it so its easy to transfer video at any time Con's - HD video is a bit grainy There is no flash so...
Zi8 is a thoughtfully designed pocket HD video camera

Summary: The only reasons I purchased the Zi8 was for the external microphone input, the tripod socket, the HD video and price; in that order. The optional remote control sealed the deal for this pocket video camera.
