Summary: This little camera has served me amazingly well in the past 2.5 years. The video quality is phenomenal, although it does degrade a bit in lower lighting. I took this with me to document a 3 week trip to Japan, and I've ended up with a massive collection of beautiful memories.
Summary: I got this camera in early 2011 after a ton of research and near sleepless nights reading reviews & watching video. Color me obsessed. The Zi8 is not perfect, but for the money and features it will deliver what you need.
Summary: I bought this camera for my daughter and she seems happy with it - and likes the fact it is so "simple" to operate. It does not come w a carry case or memory card, hence, it is not an "option" to spend at least $40 extra...and really more like $50-$60 just to get started.
Summary: I wanted to create a video review for those of you interested in seeing real time how this camera performs. My experience is amazing and the clarity is amazing! While in bright conditions the glare on monitor is a little more difficult to see.
Summary: This is a pretty decent camera, all complaints aside. For a simple end user, who isn't in it for high quality, it does what it is meant to do fairly well. Takes pictures and records footage in a small enough package that it can be slid into your pocket.
Zi8 is a thoughtfully designed pocket HD video camera
9 March 2011
Summary: The only reasons I purchased the Zi8 was for the external microphone input, the tripod socket, the HD video and price; in that order. The optional remote control sealed the deal for this pocket video camera.
Summary: I have enjoyed working with the Zodak Zi8 pocket video camera. It served me well in tight situations where a large camera would have been intrusive. Use a tripod, otherwise the video is not so easy to stabilize.
Summary: I'm not a big video junkie. I wanted something that was small, easy to use, and didn't break the bank. This product fits the bill nicely. Good picture quality (at highest setting) and playback is easy enough on my HDTV.
