Nice camera, but if you can afford it, go with a GoPro

Summary: I got this video camera so I could use it for videotaping at random events and trips. It's simple to use and works very well. I love using it at the beach or in the pool and going underwater, because the transition is so quick and there's no loss in picture like I thought there would be.
Summary: I was hesitant to use this camera under water for a while, but then on our trip to Mexico I took the plunge. It worked out very nicely. Definitely take the time to set to Underwater setting or it will look blue (as in some clips). Very happy with the underwater video capacity. Only take pictures in full sunlight or they are not so great. [...
Solid, very portable medium/high performance camcorder

Summary: This is a great buy if you want to get HD shooting capability at a low price. The case is very rugged, and the unit just feels solid overall. I've beaten up mine pretty good since I bought it used and it just keeps going. You can shoot in 5 different modes. WVGA,720P @ 30 frames per second, 720P @ 60 fps, and 1080P @30 fps. 1080P looks really nice, but you'll want to use 720P@60 fps when you are recording a lot of fast movement.
Excerpt: Battery life is okay. Last about 90 minutes of continuous recording. Menu and buttons not that easy to use. Only icons. No wording to guide you. Lovely video. I have not tried to record under water, but it held up well in a heavy mist.
Summary: Have used this cam camping, outdoors in the rain, wind & snow and it performs well. One of the reasons I bought it. The better class SD card you buy helps, but still for the price this cam has nice options and ease of use. It tends to record a clicking sound when you stop recording if your not careful. I keep it charged up quickly with solar or 12v car plug. Windows 7 & movie-maker friendly plus the hdmi option is cool.
