Summary: I Have had the camera about 9 months and have done A LOT of shooting with it, mostly Wildlife and Scenic. I Like the quality of the video,(So far I have been shooting 1920x1080) It will shoot in BluRay but I don't have the software and the right computer to get that out of the camera.) I HATE,HATE,HATE the touch screen. I also called JVC and told them I would have paid an extra $100.00 to have an optical viewfinder along with that touch screen which is worthless.
Summary: I bought his camera about 3 months ago, and it is a nice upgrade to my older mini-DV camera. I use it for occasional shooting of the kids, and for vacations. Videos taken outside looks nice, although they seem just a tiny bit more blurry when panning the camera than my Canon mini-DV. Inside, where most of the videos are taken, it an improvement over the mini-DV, especially in low light situations.
Summary: I got this camera mainly for the price performance. The HD and low light features especially appealed to me. The low light works quite well. The image quality is very good, and the stabilization seems to work well too. Especially on the highest mode, it truly reduces the shake when you are zooming into your child that's far away. I have had no issues with the video files playing or editing on Windows 7 and Magix 16.
