The JVC Everio GZ-MS120BU Camcorder is a good product at a decent price.

Summary: I bought this camcorder to replace an aging 8mm tape unit. I had read that the method of saving files in a *.mod format was causing problems for some owners. I use a Linux operating system and have had no problems at all transferring files or authoring a DVD. The battery life is good at over three hours of steady recording and with 32gb of storage I get 7 hours of recording time with the highest resolution setting.
Pros: Fits well in the hand, point and shoot. Not many details to fuse with. Good sound and video quality.
Cons: I can't seem to figure out how to use slot B as video too. I have it to automatically switch to the next card when I need it but sometimes I just wanted an event on another card, which required me to take out card A and switch them.
