Summary: Being able to record 8 hours at a time is great. The only drawback to the hard drive type of recording is that a new file is created each time. The positive to that is that it makes for ease of transfer. You can record to DVD with the software they include and it's very easy. The battery life is awful, so get an extended or extra battery.
Summary: I work in a Mac school, and it is a pain to bring the videos in to the included software, and then convert them so I can alter them in iMovie. Besides that, the camera is excellent, good harddrive (i got the 30G version) and the transfers are amazingly fast. The drop protection has also already saved us.
Summary: It's a nice product for the price. Very compact. Good quality video for my purposes. The battery life is a problem. I've been using it to tape portions of my son's baseball games, recording for about 10 seconds at a time and pausing (when he's batting or pitching) and it barely makes it through the game.
Summary: This is a great camcorder. It is very small, compact, easy to run, and even looks nice. It actually fits in most average size digital camera cases. I've not had it all that long, but so far I am pleased with it. Let me just list the pros and cons; hopefully it is helpful. Pros: *30G Hard Disk Drive is massive. *Recharges in less than 2 hours. *Can be used while pluged in to the AC adapter/charger. *Relatively easy to use--self explanatory manual and on-screen display.
