GZ-mg330ru

James Edwards, Amazon
28 August 2009
  • Summary: I've had this camera for a year + now. It does a decent job. And as others have said, the color is so-so and if zoomed in you just about need a tri-pod, I can't hold it steady enough. But I have discover a HUGE problem. After updating to Vista I needed the install disc that came with the camera.

Nice looking device but image quality unacceptable

NY Mom, Amazon
20 July 2009
  • Summary: I bought this camera to make home videos of my kids. I am not at all a professional videographer but the image quality of this camera leaves a lot to be desired, very grainy even in adequate lighting.

Just OK

Andrea Walters, Amazon
20 July 2009
  • Summary: This camcorder gets 5 stars for portability and attractiveness. I bought this because it got such great reviews. The pictures at daytime were great. I could not get over the poor video quality, using indoor normal lighting. I can't believe that so many people would overlook that!!!

One Caveat for JVC Video

Anonymous, Newegg
3 December 2008
  • Summary: One caveat of note for the JVC Everio(s) (and this may very well apply to other JVC models) the video files the camera produces are .mod files. These files are not read by XP Windows Movie Maker (JVC says VISTA has no problem with them, not confirmed by me) Also the software included is not for...
  • Pros: small, light weight, easy controls
  • Cons: .mod files don't work with XP Movie Maker, no included editing software

Decent little camcorder

MindCreations, Amazon
10 April 2008
  • Summary: Pros: * Convenient small size. * Lens cover button helps protect lens from debris and scratches. * Easy navigational controls. * Direct record to 30GB hard-disk-drive save is pretty awesome- no worrying about tapes! * Easy navigation to review everything that has been shot on camera.

Dark Side Of Editing

B. P. Moreton, Amazon
11 September 2009
  • Summary: The camera will deliver superb movies in daylight but in low light the quality is poor. I use Magix, Pinnacle and/or Ulead for editing. Downloading from this camera is not easy so if you are into proper editing as opposed to using the software supplied think again about this camera.

JVC Software

Leslie James, Amazon
11 September 2009
  • Summary: I have a JVC Evio MS-90ek but have used this model. Try using Serif Movie X3 or above. My copy automatically fetched a plug-in from SERIF website when I edited footage and have had no problems. JVC software is usable but very basic.
