Not the camera for an amateur

Overstock
6 September 2009
  • Summary: I am not very technology savy and this camera is not easy to operate. After reading others reviews I felt good about the purchase. However, it has not lived up to the reviews of others. We bought it to film my daughters wedding and reception. The wedding was outside and filmed beautifully, but after lights were dimmed at the reception, even with the camera light on, we can't make out any of the dance portion of the reception.

GZ-mg330ru

James Edwards, Amazon
28 August 2009
  • Summary: I've had this camera for a year + now. It does a decent job. And as others have said, the color is so-so and if zoomed in you just about need a tri-pod, I can't hold it steady enough. But I have discover a HUGE problem. After updating to Vista I needed the install disc that came with the camera. I couldn't find it of course. I thought no problem, I'll just download it fro the JVC site. Well, they don't offer any drivers or software...just updates.

Nice looking device but image quality unacceptable

NY Mom, Amazon
14 June 2009
  • Summary: I bought this camera to make home videos of my kids. I am not at all a professional videographer but the image quality of this camera leaves a lot to be desired, very grainy even in adequate lighting. The camera is very small and sleek, LCD screen very clear but the images on my computer were not, which is way more important. You get what you pay for with this camera. I returned it and bought a mini dv camcorder, much better quality.

Decent little camcorder

MindCreations, Amazon
12 April 2009
  • Summary: Pros: * Convenient small size. * Lens cover button helps protect lens from debris and scratches. * Easy navigational controls. * Direct record to 30GB hard-disk-drive save is pretty awesome- no worrying about tapes! * Easy navigation to review everything that has been shot on camera. * USB connection to computer makes super-fast transfer. * Bundled software allows you to create DVDs very quickly.

Just OK

Andrea Walters, Amazon
31 January 2009
  • Summary: This camcorder gets 5 stars for portability and attractiveness. I bought this because it got such great reviews. The pictures at daytime were great. I could not get over the poor video quality, using indoor normal lighting. I can't believe that so many people would overlook that!!! I am still looking for one that will give me a good balance of good quality non-daytime video at a decent price.

Picture good and easy to use but..

J. Dodd, Amazon
8 October 2008
  • Summary: I purchased this camera because I have a JVC camcorder and for my current needs size and weight are issues. Picture quality is certainly better than tape seems easy to navigate the menu's once you use it for a little while. My two complaints are: the minor one is that unlike my other JVC I can't embed the date in the movie which I find useful to date images.

JVC Software

Leslie James, Amazon
22 August 2010
  • Summary: I have a JVC Evio MS-90ek but have used this model. Try using Serif Movie X3 or above. My copy automatically fetched a plug-in from SERIF website when I edited footage and have had no problems. JVC software is usable but very basic.
