JVC’s Everio GZ-HD5 is a digital camcorder that uses three charge-coupled devices (CCDs) to record high-definition video to its built-in 60GB hard drive. The quality of the video captured on the GZ-HD5 was decent (though we’ve seen better), and the quirky methods necessary to transfer the video to your Mac are far from elegant. Reviewer: Picture correct13 May 2008The JVC GZ-HD5 is a full HD camcorder with a 3CCD imaging system that records to an 60GB internal hard disk. It features a Fujinon HD lens, optical image stabilization, 1080 progressive 60fps HDMI output for full HD 60p displays, the HD Gigabrid video engine, and various shooting assist functions. The GZ-HD5 is a lot like the GZ-HD6 but has half the hard drive capacity. The JVC GZ-HD5 is available in Silver for $1199. Read more
