Summary: Had a Canon Vixia hr40, for two weeks, swapped it for this JVC thing. Going to undo that, and get the Canon again. In some ways, the JVC has a better UI, but it's so cheesy, with goofy icons, silly sounds, and background graphics swooping around. The JVC's image stabilization, image resolution, and lo-lux capability seem inferior to the Canon. The JVC has a very simple live USB connection, and supports immediate playback on PC over the cable.
Summary: This cam is good for the youtube/vimeo/or other Internet streaming sites. I've checked with the play back on PC at highest UXP setting and the frame rate was <30 fps. There is other JVC's 60p model but the price is almost double. So for those who are looking for basic entry level camcorder, this would be a good choice. Wi-Fi works perfect, Unless you're real PRO,30 fps, will give you a good result on Internet streaming. Handling is OK.
Summary: I bought this camera for my wife and she really enjoy this camera and all the features that camera she really enjoy the wi-fi features that is possible to use on off network and use as baby monitor works vey well very clear image.
Summary: I gave this as a gift to my daughter and son-in-law. They are loving it. I have used it as well and it is a great little camcorder. We were all surprised by how small it is, but it is easy to use. I thought it would shake and be difficult to control but quite the contrary, it takes smooth videos - no shakiness at all. Excellent so far!!
Summary: The picture quality is great and the low light capabilities are really nice. The sound pickup from the built-in mic is also pretty good. I remember reading something about wind noise filtering, but it definitely sounds like a wind tunnel if you record outside in a breeze. The 16GB internal memory is OK as long as you're not recording in the UXP (highest quality) or fast motion (extra frames per second so you can do slow-mo videos) modes for very long.
