Summary: this camera is absolute garbage. firstly the battery is only good for 40 minutes and takes 2 hours to charge. imagine if you planned on filming an event that lasted longer than 40 minutes. secondly, if you use the zoom the video comes out jumpy and is unwatchable, no matter how steady your hand. in desperation I bought a tripod from amazon.com to no avail.
Crashed and ruined my 2 week old lenovo ideapads Y510p, and Y410

Summary: installed the Everio MediaBrowser4 (which is the ONLY program that can read and convert the images record by there device).did 2 short test videos and a picture.Went through the steps to copy, convert, move, then convert.Great put away the 1 laptop ( the nice one Y510P) i had just installed their software on and off to play/record with the Family. A few days latter tried to transfer files to the computer.
Summary: this might not be a problem for everyone but there is no on/off switch on this device. the only way to turn on the device is to open the screen. there is an off switch on the inside but it only functions to turn the unit off while the screen is open. you must open the screen to a full 90 degrees to turn on the device. once the video has started, you can not close the screen. it must be open or flipped to the outside and closed or the camera shuts down.
Summary: The touch screen broke the first time i was using it. Never bought anything more crappy than this. But it was my fault did not use it while it was still in warranty. Otherwise I definitely returned it.
Summary: This camera lasted about 2 months before the touch screen broke from NORMAL use - no drops, no nothing. The warranty DOES NOT COVER a broken touch screen. How can a manufacturer market a touch screen product but not warrant the touch screen? Why? My opinion is that probably a bunch of touch screens are breaking and JVC does not want to fix them. Bad product, bad product design, and bad product support. The camera broke while still under full parts and labor warranty.
Summary: This camera is not even remotely HD and was a complete waste of my time to purchase. The video quality is laughable and if you intend to record anything that is in motion you had best be ready to be disappointed. The ONLY redeeming quality of this thing is that I saved the receipt. Save your money and get a better one than this.
Summary: I received this camcorder for Christmas and was sorely disappointed with it, both in general and when compared to other camcorders in the same price range. To begin with the most important thing to me is video quality. This camcorder claims to be High Definition 1080p, but it barely manages to look HD at all, with the video looking like it has been upscaled rather than true pixel resolution at that size.
Summary: Firstly, it doesn't come with any memory at all, so you'll need to make sure to buy a memory card before using. Also, as another reviewer on here noted, the supplied battery is low capacity, so you only get about 30min recording time on it. Now for the major complaint...You need the supplied computer software (which is installed from the camera) to do anything with the video other than play back on the camera.
This camcorder does worse than my sony digital still camera on videos!

Summary: Bought the JVC Everio GZE200BUS through Fry's on sale for $199.99. Was happy with the price but felt jipped because it comes with a 700mAh battery which forces you to pay premium and buy another battery. 700mAh is half the capacity of my smartphone battery. 700mAh is about the capacity of a disposable pay as you go phone battery. What an insult. I also don't know how anybody can give 5 star rating with just the battery issue.
