Summary: Wanted to buy a new Cam at the first of the year but waited on the newer models to arrive. I was looking at Canon's Z300, Sony's HC32, and JVC's 295. I think each has it strong points but in the end it was JVC's zoom, extra battery, great night vison, and crystal clear quality that lead me here. I love this thing. No problems xfering to pc using firewire. Battery life is above average at 1:39... Usable also as a Web Cam..(great quality) All this for $378...
Summary: we bought this product and i thought because it was from JVC it would be good well i was wrong when we recored it looks fine but when we play it back it's so dark and i know it's that camcorder because are t.v.
Summary: The DV is in a weird place, on the bottom, which makes inserting a new tape while the camcorder is on a tripod impossible. Otherwise, this camera is great. Compact, easy to use, etc. The light on it is convienent; though it would be nice to have the option to turn it on remotely. Zoom is smooth, and it works great as a webcam.
Summary: I've had this camcorder now for 6 months. Here are some of the things I have found. First you know to purchase a firewire. The charger, I found a nice charger that you put the battery in the unit and plug the whole thing into the electrical socket. That is nice. I don't know if other camcorders have the same type lense cover, but this one stinks. It falls off alot. Whoever designed it should be immediately drug tested. Still shots are so-so.
Summary: I decided on this camcorder because it supposedly had an AV in/out and was advertised on various web sites including this one as such. It only has an AV out jack. Therefore you can not transfer your old tapes to digital. WHen I called the company, one person said it did, another one said it didn't. Their customer support services does not even have manuals readily available to them to inform you about this camera.
Summary: Bought this for my husbands birthday, he loves it. Lots of features and good quality pics. Only one complaint, still photo button is right next to record button. We keep pressing the still instead of record! Fits in the palm of hand, great little camera. All in all a good value. Trying to find an external battery charger.
Summary: Item came missing a battery and a lens cap. Why should such an advanced item even need a lens cap? I had an older JVC that didn't, and yet had fewer features. Also, though I do lots of biz with Amazon and love it, it took a while to get this straightened out (emails with no link, waiting for postage paid UPS sticker, etc), and I still await reimbursement. Hope all goes well. As for item, look at SONY.
