Summary: The product did not work due to a defect known to afflict that product. It should have been checked and tested before it was shipped. The vendor, Steve @ EZCORP was very cooperative and appologetic with regard to generating a refund, but that does not add to my ability to use what I had ordered.
Summary: About 5 years ago (2006) I took this camera outside to film the first scene of my student film. This first scene was critical, and if I couldn't get it, I would have to rewrite the script. I'm telling you this because it involves about 150 balloons and a lot of helium. Fast forward...as I finally got the balloon rig off the ground and able to float on its own, I grab the fishing line that will keep it from floating away. Oops. Somehow it became severed.
Summary: I bought this camera new in 2005 after our first child was born and this camera has captured many hours of timeless memories for us. It connects with my PC with no problem, my PC and laptop both recognized it immediately after plugging it in. The camera is also reliable. I don't hear any of the "motor noise" in the videos that people seem to complain about the microphone picking up during recording.
Summary: Excellent product with awesome zoom. Battery that comes with it last a long time as well. I would buy this product again without any hesitation. I have not used thew camera part yet because I have a digital camera. But I will use it sometime.
Summary: this camera is an excellent camera. i bought it and it took great videos and good still pics. about a year after i got the camera i started getting an error message on the screen. it said that the unit was in safeguard mode eject and reinsert tape. upon doing so, nothing happened. the message still showed up on the screen. i tried everything i could think of to reset the camera. i removed the battery for several hours and tried again and the message still appeared.
Summary: Good product, had it for a year now. Wish I had bought the one with a jack for an external microphone. Consider that if you are buying a camcorder that will be used for recording teachings or other educational event. It has good sound pick up but not good enough for proper recording of teachings.
Summary: This camcorder was bought in September 2005 and is still working well. I was talking a film class and didn't want to have the hassle of borrowing my school's $1000+ camcorder. Knowing full well that Canon and Sony, especially Sony, would be the best camcorder for people wanting their shots to look professional, I looked on Amazon and Circuit City to see reviews.
