Summary: I did a lot of research before I purchase this camera. I just got back from vacation, I was in a country of very high crime,no one knew I had a camera in the palm of my hand and filming. What I like, the quality of picture HD the bluetooth able to use my smart phone, the built-in microphone it's okay but the built-in speaker on the other hand it's not good quality, when it's plug in to a TV the sound is great.
Summary: I am tech savvy and was excited by the promise of all the features this product and the water and shock production without any additional case. Maybe I got a bad unit, but the picture quality was poor despite 60fps HD. Did not interface well with Mac. Buttons hard to use, especially when mounted sideways. Unit kept freezing when tried to play back. Battery life less than hour on a full charge. iOS app did functioned like a beta version.
Summary: Bought this for its size and durability. I recorded some videos, but the unit would shut down when I tried to play back the videos. I tried removing the battery and SD card and restarting. Nothing helped. Also, I echo the audio complaints of another reviewer. Audio quality was poor. A noise reduction circuit of some kind is needed.
Summary: Got this to use on my motorcycle and kayak. Chose the JVC because it had all the features I wanted included (as opposed to GoPro). I have read that wifi set up was hard for some. Was very straightforward and easy for me, however I did take the time to read the instructions. Looks like battery life may be an issue but then it seems to be an issue in all these types of cameras.
Summary: I purchased this product to record on the exterior of my car and while mountain biking. The camera is easy to use and takes good quality video. The phone app still lacks some as you cannot use the app and Bluetooth phone function at the same time (a call will stop the recording). My single complaint is the terrible wind noise at speeds above 5 mph. You cannot hear any sounds other than the wind when moving and the camera is mounted in the open (vs.
Pros: easy to use/understand good quality video small/compact design on board lcd to view footage
Cons: terrible wind noise when going over 5mph phone app is okay
