Summary: For almost half the price of the GoPro 3+ Black, ($225), im loving the video quality and display screen. I have been putting the video on to my Ipad and using a video to photo app to get some great pictures from the video ive taken. There is a lack of "specialty" mounts that the GoPro offers. However, due to the JVC accepting a 1/4x20 bolt, a mount can be made. My only gripes so far are: Camera has to be in upright (or upside down) position to have the video correct.
Summary: Im really speechless. I value reviews when the numbers reach into the hundreds but in this case the reviews are bogus or people accept JUNK without thought. This camera may be ok on the hardware side but the Software is horrible. I dont just mean horrible, I mean the nastiest coding ever vended to and unsuspecting public. The entire software team should be immediately fired and replaced then the software rebuilt from the ground up.
Excerpt: I do underwater tours and classes in salt water tidal pools. I bought this camera after comparing it to the Drift, and the Go Pro models. I had used Go Pros before, so I had a good comparison on that. I like this much better. Beautiful video and photo quality. Rugged little camera. Because of its versatile shape, able to balance well underwater. Great burst shooting.Cool timelapse feature. Great menu, very intuitive. Good for wide shots, not as good for closeups.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Good Audio, Highly Compatible, Intuitive Interface, Lightweight, Produces High Quality Film, Rugged
Summary: My feedback regards JVC customer service only. I haven't had a chance to test the camera itself and I will not have, I guess. I was looking for a camera to use as a driving recorder on the helmet and motorcycle and was considering to buy the JVC XA2 as it seemed to have the features I needed. I had 7 questions about the camera and sent an email to JVC customer service. I had a bad luck to be replied by some Veronica H.
Summary: Disappointed in overall picture and video quality. I bought it thinking it would be a good alternative to a regular mini camcorder, but it is not. If your objective is strictly action video, it's probably OK, but not for making home movies. The side view finder is not practical to determine what you're actually taking video of.
Summary: Overall I feel this is a good action camera. I've never owned a GoPro and purchased this after extensively researching the action camera market. I use it exclusively in the 1080p 60fps mode as that seems to generate the highest quality video. I generally edit it down to 30fps which produces better results than taking 30fps video natively. Judging from what I've seen from GoPro footage, this is probably on par with the GoPro Silver in terms of image quality.
Summary: Length:: 7:26 Mins The JVC Adixxion 2 is a nicely constructed and well designed action camera that unfortunately has lackluster image quality. The camera has two tripod mounts (one on the bottom and one on the left side) which makes it very flexible for mounting. It is also waterproof out of the box so it doesn't need a separate housing for taking underwater shots. It also has a viewfinder monitor on the right side of the unit. The image quality isn't great.
