Summary: The Everio GZ-MS130 as a video camera is a good camera, a photo camera it is not. Every photo comes out non-focused with motion blur lines. I am not to sad as it was purchased as a video camera and not a photo camera, but it would be nice to not have to lug both devices around. Low light tends to bring some graininess, but it is NOT a 0 lux camera so what do you expect.
Summary: My main reason for purchasing this camera was to capture good quality video while using a green screen. I wanted a camera that would supply a strong focus while giving me good color balances. So far I have not been disappointed. I had read there were issues in getting the .MOD format converted for editing in the computer this also has been a moot point as plenty of freeware is out there to handle the conversion smoothly and cleanly.
Summary: I have had mine for a month or so. I like it for the most part. I wish it had an "optical" view finder, but few Camcorders do these days. I am also very shaky because of arthritis, so its taking me a while to "learn" how to handle this camera. This is not against the camera, just pointing out that is is different than I am used to. All in all, an excellent camera.
Summary: I'm a camcorder newbie and bought the JVC MS130BU basically on an impulse at Walmart. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but I took the plunge because I needed a video camera fast. I've now had the camcorder less than a week and am very satisfied with what I purchased. Could you get a better camera, I'm sure that you could, but for a standard definition digital camera, I am very happy with the image quality.
Early experience good, video format needs conversion

Summary: I've just begun testing this camcorder, and it seems to work very well. Be aware of two limitations: (1) maximum file size is 4 GB, so the manual says it will create a new file at that point if you are continuously recording. (2) the MOD file format is indeed MPG, and can be copied from the camcorder and renamed as .mpg and edited.
