Summary: I was trying to find a hdd cam that had av inputs. After spending lots of hours and hundreds of dollars I found the GZ-MG555. Now I can backup all of my tapes from my hi-8 cam and transfer to my mac with ease. Havent used it at all for regular recording, so I couldnt tell you anything about video quality.
Summary: This is a great little camera that has everything you need to take pictures and shoot video in every situaltion. I like the fact that I can shoot for 7 hours at HQ without interupution. The other benefit to this camera that isn't on all everio models is a place to plug in an external microphone.
Pros: Comfortable to Operate, Durable, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Simple Controls, Versatile
Summary: I bought is camcorder about about two months ago. I used it at eight events day and night time shooting and the videos came out great. I also shoot photos at a wedding, I loaded the photos on my computer. The prints were like a pro.
Summary: Great little machine for the money. I owned one of the first HDD camcorders also a JVC and they have made some nice changes to the controls. Honestly the thing that tipped my decision was the fact that it records in MPEG-2...call me crazy but it is so convenient. Just about went HD until I read that you really need to tripod at all times...not very practical for chasing your kids around.
Pros: Comfortable to Operate, Durable, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Records in MPEG-2, Simple Controls, Versatile
Summary: This is one of the very few camcorders on the market from any brand that rates very high on STILL images. My video purspose is family and school events and family vacations. This is perfect for that purpose. It is very small, light easy to use and I don't have to bring a still and video camera. Also- I don't have to worry about running out to buy media !
