It appears that JVC has finally found its way with the new Everio GZ-MG505. While past Everio camcorders were overpriced and did not perform well, this unit has a lot to offer. It appears that JVC has finally found its way with the new Everio GZ-MG505. While past Everio camcorders were overpriced and did not perform well, this unit has a lot to offer. Although the JVC Everio GZ-MG505 may not be up to par with the competition from Sony and Panasonic, it has managed to carve itself out a place in this niche of the electronics industry.

So what is it that has made the Everio GZ-MG505 the best one yet? First off, it offers three ¼.5” CCDs. Just like the offerings from Panasonic, JVC feels that by having three chips it can offer better color performance. In the case of the Everio GZ-MG505 the color performance was top of the line in bright light situations.

In low light situations the Everio GZ-MG505 is not as bad as some may expect. JVC should not expect consumers to think that low light performance will be any good with an Everio. After all, it has been downright horrendous in the past. Luckily, the new Everio GZ-MG505 is much better in this department.

In the past JVC camcorders were difficult to operate in almost all situations. It is safe to say that the Everio GZ-MG505 has remedied this problem. This is by far the easiest JVC camcorder to operate, and as a user you will be glad for this. A joystick makes navigation easy, and a slightly larger design makes it easy to get a good hold on the unit.

Although the JVC Everio GZ-MG505 excels in many areas, it may not be the best buy. If you have always purchased JVC in the past you may want to stay loyal to the brand. But when it comes down to it, the competition is slightly better and gets our nod.
