JVC EVERIO GZ-HD3 Review

Digitaltrends
10 June 2008
  • Conclusion: The GZ-HD3 camcorder is a good performer when there’s enough light. Video quality under these conditions is very pleasing and natural—like real life, the way high-def is supposed to be. When you go indoors there’s a fall off with lots of noise and issues grabbing quick focus.

JVC HD Everio GZ-HD3 camcorder review

best4reviews.com
9 June 2008
  • Summary: With picture quality closer to more expensive competitors than those in its immediate class, the JVC GZ-HD3 suggests itself as a good HD option for those on a budget, though the need to buy additional cabling and removable storage media to fully realise all its functionality loses it the ultimate...
  • Pros: Built-in 60GB hard drive, full sounding stereo audio, footage clearer and cleaner than competing AVCHD devices, solid and well built with unusual features at a consumer level, including lens hood
  • Cons: HDMI lead and SD cards are optional yet (relatively) essential extras

A Serious Joystick Focus: JVC GZHD3 2.0MP HD Digital Camcorder

Personal Electronics buzz
24 January 2008
  • Excerpt: The JVC GZHD3 weighs 1.5 ounces and measures 3-inch x 3.25-inch. The size is perfect for my hands and it is ergonomically designed for a great day of shooting. This camera has a different kind of focus ring. Instead it is a joystick on the edge of the 2.8-inch LCD display.

Review: JVC Everio GZ-HD3

Wired
24 October 2007
  • Excerpt: JVC has been cranking out tapeless camcorders for almost three decades now (well, in dog years at least) and that experience shows in the long list of refinements the company built into this 3-chip HD delight. An in cam pie-chart shows recording time left, both graphically and numerically.
  • Pros: Disgustingly good variable speed zoom focuses fast to shoot action like Michael Bay. Front-side light switches on in the dark for hot lights-out action. 5 hours video recording at max resolution. Loaded with outputs: HDMI, USB 2, i.Link (FireWire), and component video outs.
  • Cons: Dull HD video; we’ve seen pears that were crisper. We’d prefer one CMOS to three CCDs. Semi-proprietary MOD file-format a pain to use with many common video-editing apps. Just over one hour of battery life? We’re gonna need at least twice that to bootleg I Am Legend.

Teurer kleiner Bruder: JVC Everio GZ-HD3

CNET
22 November 2007
  • Summary: Der Everio GZ-HD3 ist eine abgespeckte Version des JVC GZ-HD7. Damit fallen einige der extravaganteren Funktionen weg, doch der Preis ist für diesen Camcorder immer noch zu hoch.
  • Pros: attraktives Design, hochwertiger Klang, rauscharme Videos
  • Cons: schwache Video-Auflösung, benötigt eingebauten ND-Filter, kein Sucher
