  • Conclusion: The addition of Wi-Fi is a nice touch that lends lots of extra functionality to the JVC Everio GZ-GX1, but it’s the video quality that matters. Thankfully images come out great, and with lots of colour and sharpness to make the JVC Everio GZ-GX1 an able all-rounder.
  • Pros: The addition of Wi-Fi lets you control the JVC Everio GZ-GX1 remotely using a smartphone or tablet for real-time monitoring your subjects via a live video feed without having to even look at the JVC Everio GZ-GX1. Use it as a security or surveillance device and the JVC Everio GZ-GX1 will even snap a still photo should a moving subject enter the frame. It’s a neat little feature that can also be used to record difficult subjects with less intrusion into the field. Wi-F...
  • Cons: A lack of manual controls makes the JVC Everio GZ-GX1 feel somewhat less professional than some of its competitors, resulting in less accuracy and finesse in shots requiring abuse of the zoom mode. Users are recommended to stick with the optical zoom. The JVC Everio GZ-GX1 doesn’t cope quite so well with digital zoom. Use it and you risk ruining your footage with grainy shots with little detail.

  • Conclusion: The JVC Everio GZ-GX1 is a high-end consumer camcorder that captures full 1080p60 video and offers up some compelling Wi-Fi features, but given its overall performance, the price is just too high.
  • Pros: Excellent Wi-Fi features. Sharp LCD. Full 1080p60 video. Well suited for outdoor and action video. Wide aperture lens.
  • Cons: Expensive. Soft and grainy indoor video. Poor still image quality.
