Pleased as punch!

Gina Westvang, Amazon
6 April 2011
  • Summary: When I received this camcorder, I was initially shocked because I ordered it and received only two days later. This has to be the fastest item I have ever received. The quality of the camcorder was pristine and I received all items in the listing plus a few more that weren't. I will definitely be purchasing from this seller in the future and also suggesting to friends.

Great DVDCAM!!

S. Johnson "Documentary Queen", Amazon
9 July 2008
  • Summary: My husband bought this camcorder for me for our anniversary in 2005. I have not had one problem with it since. I even took it to Iraq (a very sandy and windy place) and did my own little documentary!! The menu is easy to understand and follow. The fact that I can use dvdram discs or dvdr discs is really convenient. Great little bang for the buck!!

Hitachi DZ-MV730A DVD Camcorder

J.Shope, Rate it all!
4 April 2008
  • Summary: I really like this camera a lot. It is easy to use. DVD-RAM idea is great, but not super compatible. My goal was to take videos with the camera, then burn the DVD-RAM disc's images onto DVD-R type disks and then be on my way. This version of the camera does not have a USB port, so the only way to get your videos on your computer is by taking the DVD-RAM out of the camera and inserting it into your computer CD/DVD drive.

DVD Camcorder

  • Summary: We really like this camera. We have not be able to find a way to "edit" our recordings on the computer and what we have been able to find out is...that will not be able to with this model...that is the only downside to this camera and I wish I knew that ahead of time. It is pretty easy to use and the filming quality is pretty darn good too. I would never pay the "full" price for this camera but it was definitely worth the "Overstock" price.

Reconditioned Hitachi camcorder

Overstock
23 July 2007
  • Summary: I really like the camcorder itself. It has good picture quality and is easy to use. However, the reconditioned camera had no CD included with it to make editing or viewing the film on the computer possible. The CD is included with the camera if the camera is purchased new. When I contacted Hitachi, I was told that a reconditioned camera always is shipped without the CD.

Good, but not the best

lucyharrison, epinions.com
6 June 2007
  • Summary: Good if you're not really concerned about connecting to a computer. I recommend the regular dvd-R discs, they are cheaper and will play in any dvd player.
  • Pros: Well built, mini dvds are nice, easy to use
  • Cons: cannot hook up to a computer, poor quality stills

Wish I hadn't bought this

E. Coburn, Amazon
24 March 2007
  • Summary: See other comments about the challenges of viewing this on your computer. They make it sound like you're just recording a DVD and you'll be able to pop it in anywhere. WRONG. And this model doesn't connect directly to a computer directly. Be careful when buying these to make sure you can do what you want to.

There is no "firewire " with this one

Robert Waldron, Amazon
23 March 2007
  • Summary: Without purchasing another piece of hardware ,you cannot record to dvd via PC with this little number. All the other features are great but it's like traveling 500 ft and stopping short 1 foot from the destination .WTF!!!! Amazon advertises the Monster cable as an "accessory". Really?
