Too Much Price for Little Worth
19 December 2013
Summary: GoPro sells by Good Marketing. It's not worth the camera it seems. I have experienced many Cameras and honestly wasn't impressed too much with the GoPro. I had much higher expectations. Comparison: My Galaxy S3 Phone can record equivalent quality footage if not better.
Over heats during the day light hours when used as a dash cam

Summary: ok i got this for use as a dash cam in my car. i like the app on the phone (android phone) and althought it has issues at times, all of which can be solved by restarting phone and/or camera. Camera seems to over heat with the usb charger cable attached or just on battery.
Summary: Purchased a GoPro Hero3 White at the end of April 2013 and I can confirm that (1) you will likely spend at least an hour or two trying to update software (2) the update process seems to fail randomly, (3) even after updates there are still numerous problems.
Summary: While a great concept, this thing is a trainwreck. I purchased this 2 weeks ago for a week of snorkeling in on reefs in Mexico. I am writing this from the lobby of the resort. It locked up (froze) the first time I used it. Then it managed to take 3 photos and 5 videos on the beach.
Summary: I really want to like the GoPro Hero3 because it has so much potential, but unfortunately like everyone is reporting, the firmware is incredibly buggy (even after updating to the latest firmware, released 15 Dec 2012).
Excerpt: It worked like it should but the video was grainy, even with a lot of light outside , fully sunny day , it was grainy. It's better to buy the 3+ silver for $80 more at Costco and you get an extra battery and charger
Excerpt: Purchased this GoPro unit for my sons birthday based upon the brand name, and to be honest the brand name of GoPro is all your getting for the price. By the time you purchase all the accessories etc you end up paying almost twice the price.
Summary: First ride, I was removing GoPro from my helmet and one of the "arms" of the clip broke. Later in the same afternoon the other arm also broke. Had to use the chest to save the ride. Far below expectations...
