GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition

PC Magazine
16 October 2014
  • Conclusion: GoPro's Hero3+ Black Edition shoots the best 1080p footage we've seen on an action camera.
  • Pros: Best video quality we've seen on an action camera. Versatile shooting modes. Capable of shooting 4K.
  • Cons: Expensive. Battery drains quickly with Wi-Fi enabled. Poor still photo quality. Menu is still frustrating to navigate.

GoPro HERO3+

CNET
7 April 2014
  • Summary: If you like GoPro's camera design and just want solid HD video, you might be able to save yourself $100 and get this instead of the $400 Black Edition.
  • Pros: The GoPro Hero3+ Silver Edition combines excellent HD video with recording options up to 1080p at 60fps and the same design as the company's other cameras so you have access to a large selection of accessories and mounts.
  • Cons: The $100 savings from the Black Edition costs you many shooting options and some video quality, particularly in low light. Battery life can be brief depending on the features you're using. Plan to buy accessories, including a microSD card.

GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition review

Stuff.tv
21 February 2014
  • Summary: GoPro cameras have been our go-to action cams since we were knee-high to a snowboard, so we're pretty stoked about the arrival of the Hero3+ Black Edition. This radical little box of tricks promises a better lens, longer battery life and faster wireless operation than the previous Hero3, while still packing such epic treats as 4K video and 30fps stills.
  • Pros: Excellent video quality, Huge range of mounts, 4K and slow-mo modes
  • Cons: Lacks a proper screen, 4K mode only 15fps

GoPro HD Hero3+ Black Edition review

Pocket Lint
9 December 2013
  • Conclusion: There’s no doubt that the GoPro HD Hero3+ Black Edition is the best GoPro action camera yet. It’s an enabling device, one where you’ll be capturing amazing shots in no time. But it’s a subtle push compared to the earlier Hero3 model, not a giant leap forward. Upgraders asking the big questions: there’s less lag in Wi-Fi preview, but there is still lag; battery is marginally better, but it’s still far from good enough; and the new low-light mode shows GoPro is listening...
  • Pros: An extra squeeze of battery life, small size and trimmed-back waterproof housing, quality results in variety of conditions, crop-in options for different angles of view (up to 1080p only), Wi-Fi enabled, new clip lock preferable
  • Cons: Battery life still not good enough, it's a minor update over the original Hero3 (not worth upgrading but good for first timer buyers), fussy user interface, 4K frame rate too low, touchscreen sold separately

Hero3 Plus Black Edition

Das Digitalkamera-Magazin
16 May 2014
