Summary: I just returned from a year-long trip that took me around the jungles and beaches of Papua New Guinea, and this product was part of my pack. It performed great in all kinds of environments (underwater, jungle, beach, boats, etc.) and didn't have any technical issues the entire year. I chose this one over the HERO3 because the battery lasts longer from what I could tell, and it was cheaper and basically did the same thing, which was record awesome video.
Summary: So I've been using this for about 8 months. The noise in video and pictures is very noticeable even in broad daylight which is something I wasn't expecting at all and looking at other footage out there makes me think I have a defective one. Good luck getting anyone from GoPro to respond. Customer support is nonexistent. Have been filming outdoors stuff and recently tried filming underwater. What do you know, this thing won't focus underwater at all.
Summary: This Gopro is great because it has 11mp and is $100 less than the Hero3 which has 12mp. I like how it mounts better (closer to the helmet), and it takes a full size sd card vs. a micro sd. The problem with both gopros is that the power button is exposed and gets bumped, turned on, resulting in a dead battery right when you need it most.
Summary: I have a friend who has the "Emerson" one of these and after seeing it I decided I wanted one. However I'm very glad I got the true GoPro and not the knock-off Emerson. The GoPro has been used in the mud, on the water, on all different kinds of mounts, and has held up to everything I've put it through! Great product, highly recommended.
Summary: This was a birthday present for my husband and he LOVES it! He even attaches it to his truck window driving to and from work playing with its features. He plans to take it with him next time he goes flying.
Excellent camera, recommended for sport activities, downside-no viewfinder.

Summary: If you are into a new camera, this is definitely an excellent camera. The new version (Hero 3) has minor improvements, however there are things like integrated wifi, and flat lens cover design, plus some resolution and speed improvements (ask yourself: "Do you need faster speed and higher resolution"?). Works well, similar results to my friends 300$ silver edition, however, after adding the wifibackpack, and two batteries I am close to his price.
Summary: This Hero2 model is brighter and a bit more crisp than the new Silver edition even though they both have the SAME guts and resolution specs, the H2 is cheaper, better and has less problems than the new H3 Silver, go figure...
