Excellent camera, recommended for sport activities, downside-no viewfinder.

Summary: If you are into a new camera, this is definitely an excellent camera. The new version (Hero 3) has minor improvements, however there are things like integrated wifi, and flat lens cover design, plus some resolution and speed improvements (ask yourself: "Do you need faster speed and higher resolution"?). Works well, similar results to my friends 300$ silver edition, however, after adding the wifibackpack, and two batteries I am close to his price.
Summary: This Hero2 model is brighter and a bit more crisp than the new Silver edition even though they both have the SAME guts and resolution specs, the H2 is cheaper, better and has less problems than the new H3 Silver, go figure...
Summary: Love this camera. Have taken it 60ft deep scuba diving, well below freezing snowboarding, dropped on the concrete, surfing, and strapped it to an AK 47. It has performed flawless, and captures some really awesome video. I'd buy another without hesitating.
Summary: I had the GoPro HD but I can not find it so I figured I will get a new one. I got the GoPro 2 Outdoors package. I did not want to jump up to GoPro 3 but if you have the extra money that would be good as the WiFi is built into the device and overall it is in a smaller size. I found the menu screen has improved over the HD. Still a green/grayish display but the contrast is improved.
Summary: I bought this as a wedding gift for my now-husband and he loves it. He's used it snorkeling and on multiple fishing trips, as well as just for fooling around at home (i.e., putting it on the dog's back, etc., lol). It's very simple to use. He did buy the upgraded lens for underwater use which apparently gives underwater video a better quality. Wish it had come with the original package, but oh well.
Summary: I'll preface this by saying I'm not a filmmaker and aside from my iPhone 4s I have no experience with shooting video or pictures. So far I've found the GoPro camera to be very easy to use and very fun! I bought this camera specifically for 30 minute flight in a WWII B17 Flying Fortress that I just recently went on.
