The GoPro Hero 2 is still as good or perhaps better than 3+

Summary: I bought the GoPro Hero 2 couple of years back for shooting vehicles and we've used it in almost all our out door shoots. The lens angle is a bit of a let down - but that's a problem with all GoPro cameras. The colour density can be worked on in post and the camera can take a few knocks. My original housing got scratched when I used it underwater on one of my snorkelling trips and I've replaced it with the dive housing.
Summary: My son bought this to use while motocross riding. He has continued to use for that purpose as well as things like skateboarding and snowboarding. It takes create pictures. The only issue we've had is that once mounted onto his helmet there was a little movement from where the camera connected to the base which would make an annoying noise in the video while riding. This was corrected with a small piece of paper to prevent any movement....
it's an investment on memories -- whether by land, sea, or air...have fun.

Summary: As you have seen from hundreds of "ThatWebsites" Hero2 videos, by now you know the quality of both the picture and sound. There are many more video and camera options than anticipated so this is a nice value to a compact camera. This model I purchased was a used version and included both the "Wi-Fi BackPack and Remote", both which I would highly recommend as you can add an app to your phone developed by GoPro to wirelessly connect to your camera and control what seems to...
Summary: I got this camera for Christmas 2012 and just now (Mar. 2013) got around to using it. Well, trying to use it. It locks up randomly when trying to shoot video or connecting to the PC. I have to pull the battery to get it back. I've tried all the recovery methods and nothing has helped. It will work fine for several videos and then lock up, or lock up on the first try after pulling the battery. Don't count on their unresponsive customer "service" either.
Summary: Pictures and video are great for outdoors or sunny days. Expect low quality for night / foggy days. The camera is really simple, but the size is excellent, really fits in your hand. The motorsports suction cup is great to attach to smooth metalic surfaces, I used it on my motorcycle, and it didn't fell off, plus the video was great. For the price is a good buy.
Summary: I have the GoPro HD Hero and it stopped working after I left it charging for quite some time. I did not know at that time that it would have a detrimental effect on it. After that incident, the camera would not even turn on anymore. I used the GoPro to take videos on my DJI Naza quadcopter. It was ok while it worked, so I have to have another sport camera for my quad.
Summary: This was my first foray into video cameras. I wanted to make short movies of various scooter rides and other events. As mentioned in other reviews, the product comes with a limited set of extras. I subsequently purchased various RAM mounts, e.g. RAM Mounting Systems RAM-B-149ZU Handlebar Mount to mount the camera on my scooter and for tripod use. I bought the LCD back and the skeleton case for use with a microphone so that I can film my blues band in action.
Summary: As my title, been using this unit for 2months now and the video is great. I have to say it's one of the best compact action video camera out there and very rugged. I love all the mounting options it comes with the package (motor sport) and the overall cool factor of the camera itself. It's like a status-mark to have a gopro.. you might be riding a silly tricycle, but if you have a gopro mounted, you're suddenly cool. The audio... the built-in mic is terrible.
Buy 2, that way you can shoot action movies in 3D.

Summary: The GoPro Hero2 is an excellent value for the money. The pros are that the rolling shutter and moire have been greatly reduced from the original. The cons are that the camera does not have any type of mount attached to it and must be put inside the plastic case to mount it to anything. Once in the case, you can't access the ports on the sides of the camera. The Hero2 also does not have any display as delivered. You can purchase the LCD Backpack, but it is not included.
