I'm beside myself
23 February 2013
Summary: I had this camera, then bought the wifi bacpac and the camera and wifi would not work together. I updated the firmware and it broke the camera. After weeks working with gopro I mailed it to them which they sent me one back. This would not work with the wifi bacpac, it was unable to read the version of firmware on the camera...an hour later of plugging in, cycling the power, reformating my sd card it then deterimined the camera needed a firmware update.
Summary: I purchased my GoPro Hero 2 new from Play-It-Again Sports in Wasilla, AK during the month of November 2012. I purchased this camera on the recommendation of a friend who said that the image quality was superior to the ContourHD camera I had been using previously. I tried using the camera a few times in Alaska but never could get it to work. When I got the camera and my motorcycle back to Mississippi I tried to use the camera again with no success.
Great video until it dies, terrible customer support

Summary: I bought three of the Go Pro Hero 2's for aviation, diving and motorsport apps. They work really well, until they don't. One died after a firmware upgrade at month 6 after probably 15 uses. It received a firmware upgrade, now the camera will freeze completely while cycling modes or power. It is completely inoperative now. The other two cameras randomly quit working in the middle of filming HD video. We've swapped SD cards and it didn't fix the problem.
Summary: If you like fake looking video with a constant fish eye look, mediocre sound, no viewfinder, short battery life, an unintuitive user interface and a price tag that's twice what it should be, then look no further. It's a cool idea, but Go Pro is just trying to dump as many of these substandard cameras as possible before a company like Sony or Panasonic comes along with a much better version. Wait it out...
Summary: The Hero2 has Hero"2" printed on it and an HDMI port by the card slot. The box I got said Hero2 the manual Hero2 but the cam itself had NO HDMI port, did not say Hero2, and only had one LED making what I got NOT a "2".
Summary: No sure what is all that fuzz about the new GoPro HD Hero2. As a professional photographer I will put the GoPro HD2 on the same level as cheap chinese camcorders in terms of image quality. Very disappointing in my first test when using 1080P. Unless mine came with factory problems or it doesn't play well in Apple Quicktime codec, I can just imagine how bad should be the original GoPro if this later model totally fail in every in terms of image and sound quality.
Still images badly underexposed. Tech support unresponsive.

Summary: I bought a Hero2 3 weeks ago. It worked fine initially, but one day while taking a series of stills for a time lapse video, the still images went dark - almost completely black. I emailed technical support. They requested "samples" of the images. There is no way to attach images in their webform and I get redirect errors when I submit it. I told them that, and included the exif data from the last good image and the first bad image (taken one second apart).
Summary: When recording video, i keep getting a rattle sound in the recorded audio whenever the camera moves / shakes even when i shake it with or without the housing it makes a very noticable rattling sound from deep inside. it sounds like something is loose and shaking around inside! When contacted their customer support they recommended i do the following: - If it is the buttons that are rattling on the camera itself, you may try placing a piece of tape over the buttons to...
Summary: I have had the camera for two years, it has never worked properly, as a club racer i only use the camera on the race car a few times a year. i set the camera to record and it randomly turns off, great no footage again, go pro told me to update, done, change sd, done, change battery, done. still stops. this weekend pitted with a professional team, they had a bucket of go pros, 1,2&3 that they do not use any more.
Summary: I bought this for both snow boarding and also to take video from cars too. I have been very dissapointed with the video quality in anything other than bright sunlight. Also the battery / camera is faulty and I have just been informed by the customer service dept ( only US based too - thumbs down ) that I have invalidated my warranty as I cannot guarantee it has been used with ONLY Go Pro charging kit.
