Summary: I really needed another GoPro and I figured since my HERO1 has always worked so well an improved model would be even better, right? Wrong! This camera, for whatever reason, constantly freezes up. I have tried many things to get it to work properly, to include: 1) different SD cards 2) upgraded firmware 3) different battery 4) different settings. Nothing seems to help and no matter what I do it freezes up.
Summary: I had purchased the original GoPro HERO camera in 2011. It had audio recording issues and I sent it back to GoPro for repair. The one that was returned to me still had the exact same issue. When they came out with the new HERO2, I just sold the first one and bought this one thinking that perhaps they had refined the microphone. It also has audio recording problems.
Summary: I had this camera, then bought the wifi bacpac and the camera and wifi would not work together. I updated the firmware and it broke the camera. After weeks working with gopro I mailed it to them which they sent me one back. This would not work with the wifi bacpac, it was unable to read the version of firmware on the camera...an hour later of plugging in, cycling the power, reformating my sd card it then deterimined the camera needed a firmware update.
Summary: I purchased my GoPro Hero 2 new from Play-It-Again Sports in Wasilla, AK during the month of November 2012. I purchased this camera on the recommendation of a friend who said that the image quality was superior to the ContourHD camera I had been using previously. I tried using the camera a few times in Alaska but never could get it to work. When I got the camera and my motorcycle back to Mississippi I tried to use the camera again with no success.
Summary: This camera is designed to be rugged (when encased) and hard to use, and I am a photographer by trade. The button that turns it ON is the same as the button that changes modes. Dumb design. This means you are often taking the time to shift back to "video" or whatever when all you wanted was to turn it on and shoot. This mode shift is not a quick process. Turning it on and off requires a very hard, deliberate push that you have to hold for some time.
Summary: Today, I just tried to do the firmware update through their "GoPro CineForm Studio" tool and it failed miserably. Now, the camera can't be powered on and is stuck in a weird icon with the combination of "v 1.1", a little camera and "down" arrow. Really bad! and GoPro doesn't provide customer support phone number on their web site to call. All they have is to ask you to fill in a "support form". It's really frustrating!!!
Summary: I bought my 3rd GoPro Motorsport edition, Wifi BacPac in June of 2012. Initially it worked really well, until GoPro released an update for the camera in Oct. of 2012. After updating this camera 4-5 times over the course time between june-oct I had become very familiar with the bizarre process... Then in october when the new update was released giving funtcionality for the app, I was excited. The update bricked my camera, after contacting support the same day...
Summary: With the new firmware update, my GoPro has been losing or not even recording entire video clips and mysteriously running out of battery. Then comes yesterday... I was riding in the carpool lane when a car decides to change lanes over double lines right in front of me. I thought I wouldn't have to worry because I had it on and recording. Turns out that it stopped recording halfway through, and my hopes of concrete evidence vanished.
