Summary: I bought this back in november 2011. It worked well and I used it a few times (under 10) and had no issues. I just came back from vacation where I went zip lining and it was probably the first time I actually had something good to record. Recorded 2 videos and everything was going great. On the third video, I noticed that the red recording light wasn't blinking and it was stuck on. None of the buttons were responding so I had to yank the battery out.
Summary: This seller on Amazon was fine, and I received the product in a timely manner - but the camera was defective. Hence, I've been in a month long saga with GoPro customer service to get them to replace the camera, which even they said was just a defective part. It wouldn't accept an SD card all the way - therefore I have yet to be able to use the camera at all. Worst of all, GoPro made ME pay to ship the defective camera back to them!
Summary: I just bought the whole setup for a scuba diving trip. I took amazing shots only to find out when I got home that the camera cant really focus under water due to its bubble shaped housing. So all my shots are out of focus (for an autofocus camera) and Im pretty bummed. I wrote to the company and they said they are working out a housing fix to correct but do not have it on the market yet.
Summary: This is a limited review as I didn't get much into using the product but make of it what you will. I bought this setup primarily to use for modest snowboarding. Upon opening the package, I was very excited. The waterproof casing, mounts, and devices all seemed exceptionally solid and well designed. The box included two sets of instructions: one for the camera operation (in multiple languages) and one for mounting tips.
Summary: The GoPro HD videocam is fundamentally a POV helmetcam for bikers, skiers, and boarders. It offers reasonable HD resolution, wide-angle, with a scan rate up to 60p, which work well for land, air, sailing, or surfing. For the money, it may merit four or five stars for those uses. My tilt is from the vantage of underwater use, for which the GoPro HD is gol-durned worthless and merits zero stars.
Summary: the good... Great package. Plenty of accessories for customized mounting. nice small and simple design. strong housing, yet clasp can be broken easily if not properly aligned and forced to close. Amazing picture quality. setup menu a little dated. the bad... Was bought for its waterproof qualities in preparation for a Fiji trip. HOWEVER, contrary to what GoPro touts, it is not great for underwater.
Summary: Its a shame the UK consumer has to pay such a premium compared to the US market, the white edition is £199 here in the UK compared to €199 in the US - which is the equivalent of £124 - a 38% premium, another case of rip-off-britain... Shame on you GoPro...!
