Summary: Unit kept failing. Didn't hold a charge and overall. Would freeze. Removed battery. Upgraded firmware to no avail. Sent unit back. Buyer beware. Go Pro makes great ads and promo videos, but their quality is poor.
Summary: I bought this back in november 2011. It worked well and I used it a few times (under 10) and had no issues. I just came back from vacation where I went zip lining and it was probably the first time I actually had something good to record. Recorded 2 videos and everything was going great. On the third video, I noticed that the red recording light wasn't blinking and it was stuck on. None of the buttons were responding so I had to yank the battery out.
Summary: GoPro doesn't deserve any stars as to me rating their product!!! Due to GoPro's extremely poor customer service, I have returned both the Silver and Black edition...GoPro really needs to work on their customer service. First, GoPro is too cheap to provide the consumer with any type of owner's manual nor an easy step by step way to use or download its software...extremely NOT user friendly. So here goes..
Camera is great-- the accessory mount we bought is a zero

Summary: The camera is great! My hubby is a avid cyclist averaging 150 miles a week over 2-3 rides. He had been talking about getting one of these and I bought it for his birthday so he could use it for a big ride "The Breathless Agony" (crazy). I any case, he loved it, but hated the helmet mount system -- went out and bought a mount for his handlebars and literally on the first ride-- it started bouncing and rattling and broke off-- caroming off the highway.
Summary: So you know what the Hero is all about, mounting an indestructable camera in weird places to film you doing fun stuff. Personally, I use it for auto racing, snorkling, mountain biking, ski/snowboarding, etc. The Hero does all of that great, but the video quality is poor. My first impression after using it for only a few days was that low light, dynamic range, sharpness, all left a lot to be desired.
Summary: Awsome action cam, depends on how you use it. for the quality of video, great value for your money. If you can stretch your budget a bit, get the hero2 $100 more, Same quality with more added features.
Lot of technology in a very small and well priced package.

Summary: Excellent camera ...... main challenge is coping with wind noise. Wanted the camera for recording while motor cycling primarily. It could do with having a rear or side LED visible from behind to show when recording - the one on front is not easy enough to always be seen. Video quality is very good.
Summary: This product is a very good invention. Should not be afraid to report the camera when I'm in nature, skiing or beach. This makes excellent recordings. The use is not easy because there are two buttons and small display of the setting. But there are wide-angle lens, enough to handle the difficult conditions. I think the expensive retail price of $ 270, but I bought the $ 180 price was good, but I also think a bit expensive.
